You dont get to be treated respectfully when spewing stupid bullshit because the whole world is filled with stupid bullshit and you're adding fuel to the fire.
I don't think someone saying they check the prospectus of a slot machine is spreading stupid bullshit, they're making a joke. It's okay if you didn't get it. There's no reason to be defensive or get upset.
