For those wondering "why":

HAYDEN, Idaho -- Firefighters burned some of the remaining buildings on the former Aryan Nations compound during training exercises this week.

https://wwrn.org/articles/3963/

That was 24 years ago to the day....

Seems like it's too big of a coincidence, and since it's rightwing we'll probably officially never know with this admin.

“Mentally ill shooter” if he’s white. Doesn’t matter if his house, truck, and social media is littered with pro-trump/anti-liberal threats and content.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 11 points 4 days ago

Not even that...

Look at the right wingers who tried to kill trump already, it's not easy because media just fucking dropped it.

There's a lot going on here, but there's no way in hell it's going to be released. With this admin, I wouldn't be surprised if they're straight up destroying records if they don't like what it says.

There won't even be a report years from now to disclose, they just won't retain any information on it and claim incompetence or a computer glitch if anyone ever looks into all these rightwing terror attacks.

Well of course. You have to keep politics out of it.

The plot thickens. If anybody wants to save a click this is the article from 2001.

HAYDEN, Idaho -- Firefighters burned some of the remaining buildings on the former Aryan Nations compound during training exercises this week.

The 20-acre property is owned by the Carr Foundation, which offered the abandoned buildings to Northern Lakes Fire District officials for training, fire inspector Dean Marcus said.

The foundation bought the compound in April from Victoria and Jason Keenan, who won a $6.2 million judgment against the Aryan Nations and its founder, Richard Butler.

Firefighters said they had no political agenda in burning four of the seven buildings during sessions that started Tuesday evening.

"It just gives the folks the opportunity to train how we work," Chief Jeff Welch said.

A bomb squad dog searched the buildings Thursday to make sure they were safe.

Firefighters plan to torch Butler's former home and the neo-Nazi sect's former church July 15.

Exactly on the day. Which makes me nervous about a few weeks from now...

After reading your comment I was wondering why 24 years after the thing and not 20 or 25. "Round" numbers intuitively make more sense to me to create a connection to a previous event. Then it occurred to me, that the second and fourth letters of the alphabet are B and D, as in Dick Butler. Though I doubt Richard would have gone with that nickname. Then again, maybe him being constantly teased/bullied as the dick butler explains him going down a road of hate ;-)

Obviously a false flag operation by the gay commie woke deep state! Wake up, sheeple!
