Could be useful on a plane: If you have different seats than someone and don't want to pay for your airline's ridiculous data prices. Although, most airlines I fly on(american, delta, air canada, united) all have free RCS/Facebook/Whatsapp, but not necessarily Signal, Telegram, Matrix, or your preferred secure service.

Dawarich is self-hosted, foss, and lets you track your location history and import from Google or a GPX file, and also you can use the OwnTracks app and connect to it to automatically sync.

it IS self-hosted. Look up Dawarich.

Attached a pretty cool article covering it. This is something I never would have thought of before.

This is pretty disturbing, I hope she gets a massive paycheck for this violation.

they're also working on backporting android 16 to pixels. in phase 2/3 last time i checked, so they are doing decently well. it's not over, it just adds more work for them that i'm sure they can overcome. security updates already backported :)

a few things i like:

  • moments is an interesting concept
  • it says you can toggle off gemini ai. this is good
  • display goes from 10-120hz for battery
  • ultrawide selfie camera
  • microsd card slot!
  • power button fingerprint scanner, way better than underscreen

I've started using beets to manage my music library, but it doesn't work well with jellyfin. As you can see, it creates about a million artists off of features, and this makes it hard to use. I can't find a way to fix this in beets, so I'm considering switching, but haven't found any proper alternatives. Do you guys solve this in any way, or use a different management software that is more standard? Thank you!

Recently my music downloader of choice yams.tf shut down. It was the only place I got music out of convenience. It's the only apple music ripper on fmhy. Now, I can't get new music and lyrics. I'm looking for a solution to this, whether that be self hosting(I only do FOSS) or a better downloader. Just note that I value organization and consistent file metadata.

Thank you very much for any suggestions.

I refuse to connect this TV to the internet because if it does get connected it will force an update that says unless you agree with forced arbitration your TV will be unusable. I just want to change the HDMI slot 2 spaces over 🤦. Gargle my nutsack Roku.

I've seen this bot here since January, and the fucking thing still doesn't let up.

Just had this thought, am I stroking it in my sleep when I'm having a wet dream? Or is it automatic?

A recent Youtube Web update has added a canvas whenever the seek bar is visible, an HTML5 canvas pops up. This was not asked for and not needed. If you disable canvases for privacy, this will cause a horrific red bad to cover half the screen until you hide the seekbar. Canvases can be used for fingerprinting, which I'm sure Google is doing here.

I get moving from reddit but just leave your comments up, this just made me have to do guesswork based on OP's reply.
