This leads me to believe they are well aware of how much power they still lack. And they are getting wary of losing the power they do have. It makes me wonder... What moved up their time table?

It wouldn't happen to be anything that involves a bruise on Trump's hand, posting AI videos of the president saying things, and long suddenly coherent tweets would it? They have a grenade with the pin pulled and if they let go they have a few seconds for it to be anywhere else than where they currently are.

You are correct. However, I don't think people know how to exploit it. It's two morons shouting moronic things calling eachother morons.

The step that is conveniently forgotten (because most of the country didn't learn about it) between protest and violence is civil disobedience.

It's effective, and it's been happening. It works particularly well against fascists because it turns their MO against them. Fascists like to waste time arguing then rapidly overwhelm with policy. When that policy is delayed and unenforceable they absolutely go bonkers and damage their system further.

If anyone survives the regime, we should make sure to have the brains of these authoritarians studied. There's something going on that has damaged them to the point of losing their humanity.
