This was the argument I used in high school when I wanted an Xbox 360. My parents were super reluctant given the cost, and then I told them I have nothing to talk about with friends in the hallways and I'm left out of conversations (I was). They reconsidered and eventually folded, and I was very appreciative

All comes down to rules and guidelines built around the assumption that people have integrity, a moral compass, and will be held accountable. Just so completely fucking naive

Unfortunately, I agree with everything you've said. I'm hoping politics swings back to non-far right levels across the board but it's difficult staying hopeful

While I disagree with dropping the tax, it's clear the liberals dropped that and similar policies (carbon tax, capital gains, etc) to combat the conservative slogans that appealed to the truly moronic among us

Unfortunately, Canada barely pays its own scientists. Science here is not a priority and it sucks
