The only thing that fully explains the deletion of the photos is opsec, though

"... without any assumptions, regardless of how plausible, bordering on certainty, that the assumption is" I suppose.

know everything about us and would track us down if any hidden or un-deleted photo was ever published.

"if you go back to your country and post anything we will murder you"

Personally I'd just use encrypted backups or data recovery and post literally everything I could, possibly with a taunt calling out the coward who can only threaten people when backed up by billions in military funding and personnel.

I miss my built-in IR emitter on my phone.

I used to use an app that would rotate through a bunch of common signals for "off" and I'd just stop it when the annoying-ass TV turned off.

Nobody would even notice, because I'm just another person on their phone, not some rando with a remote out in the lobby.

Phrasing like that reminds me of all the "this is the commu-social-marxism the libs want" and it's just a picture of current capitalism.

Honestly I was surprised it wasn't pre-wired with explosives or some way to ensure rapid disassembly in case of invasion.

Seems like a no-brainer, but I'm sure that would be prohibitively expensive due to shelf life and stability of explosives, and maintainence for any mechanically coupled systems.

Hindsight is usually 20/20
