Some molecules have a rotation that is centered on a chiral carbon atom and is named by the way the other atoms of the molecule rotate. There are some rules to it, but L is levorotatory and means it rotates to the left or counter-clockwise. D is dextrorotatory and spins to the right, or clockwise.

Edit: spelling errors lol

That is something my mother said to me a lot. Along with, "I brought you into this world, and I can take you out of it". It's fucked up, because it's not like anyone chooses to be born. These are not normal things for a parent to say by any means. It's emotional abuse.

You deserve better than that! It's not easy cutting ties with family, but life is a lot easier when you're not dealing with such a toxic, resentful human in your life.

🎵I like my coffee black, just like my metal🎵

They're not extremely similar to MSI, but you might like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (the band)

There's an instance called literature.cafe that has a lot of writing related communities. I see writing prompts somewhat often while browsing all. It's not the largest of instances, but it might be a good place to start

Where are the consequences for Musk funding Republican candidates?

[–] FoxyFerengi@startrek.website 5 points 5 months ago

Exactly! I've lived in this area for six years and just saw my first swift fox last month. They nearly went extinct because farmers were killing them. These little foxes eat rabbits, mice, and insects like grasshoppers, so you'd think they would be good to have around

Rabbit was the example given. But the robot stops for any animals, including sage grouse, swift fox, and black footed ferrets which are endangered in this area due to loss of habitat.

That's fair! I am fully covered by the VA so I don't have a real idea of what things cost. And I'm also on an immune suppressant, so vaccines like the MMR aren't things I can safely get unless I stop the medication in advance.

Some veterans were given an additional MMR vaccine in bootcamp. I don't know if there was a cutoff for people born after '88 though. Regardless, it's still good to get a titer if you're worried your immune system has lost some strength against measels

Her name is Vivian, and up until the last two or three years she is the only daughter he had. According to her, Musk selected male embryos for IVF (which is how all of his children have been conceived). I'm not sure how Grimes and Shivon got around that to have their girls with him

Wyoming has similar demographics to Montana, so I'll just share this.

I was in a class with a guest lecturer talking about autonomous farm vehicles. One of these has sensors that can recognize a rabbit in its path and will stop until the rabbit moves on. One of my classmates said, "That's stupid! It's just a rabbit", and others agreed with him.

I've also seen my city open up hunting on beavers, because they flood the (city-owned) plains where ranchers let their livestock roam for free. Wildlife are just pests to these people, and being a wildlife biologist in these areas is very much a political task.
