I think if these effects were universal and as serious as the paper makes out,, we'd have noticed them waaay sooner.

That sounds like Israel. A country that should be bombed into the ground on the character traits of its armed services alone, without even getting into the politics or history of the place.

He's given the world an ass kissing robot and is surprised the world doesn't want to reproduce his relationship to the others.

Here's my explanation: how you treat ChatGPT today, is how people at the top end of silicone valley have ALWAYS treated their assistants, and anyone "below" them.

They're surprised that you don't enjoy having the simulation of someone you can hurl abuse at, make demands of, and call an idiot - who has to stick around and take it. The perfect underling.

They're reproducing their own lack of empathy, and surprised that YOU don't want to be like them.

Comments don't have to fit or emulate the community topic. You can go on tangents and talk about anything that's remotely related in the comments.

It's really not "wholly supported". Plenty of websites didn't go down with Cloudflare of AWS2. Even lots of browser based infrastructure could go down without other protocols necessarily following.

I don't think these things are all in some tall heirachy. The internet is about distribution.

Does Friendica for instances, have something like Facebook Messenger going on? What would be the best for real time communication on both phone and desktop?
