Most of the content here is from twitter, so yeah...

We may not be using twitter but we are discussing content from twitter.

Its a bit depressing actually. There isnt other websites where things happen that would be more interesting to actually talk about...

You are a lot more advanced than "only animals". :) We dont see horses chatting on Facebook.

Sometimes humans excuse very bad behavior by saying animals are doing it, which is very silly to me. You are a human being, not a horse. The only question is, how will you use your abilities that the horse doesnt have? For good or for bad.

Humans competing with eachother is both the source of financial growth and also the destruction of the planet at the same time. If humans cant be smarter, we will get extinct, which is very fair by nature. We have everything we need to be smarter and if our greed over paper money kills us, so be it.

I have many flaws. But I do actually like who i am. Im honest, and kind. But I dont have high hopes for the future of humanity.

Im just being honest. Not sure how many people feel like I do about it. Perhaps just a handful, perhaps millions.

But yeah, im sure its selfish to just not care that much about what happens to humanity.

Im selfish in that way. I accept what happens.

I think its alright. If humanity dies out, I think we are simply not intelligent enough to live on. We built systems of capitalism and killed our planet. So be it.

You are getting downvoted but i agree with you its obvious they dont really try to hurt the US.

Even the missiles they did fire, ALL of them were intercepted by US missile defence and not a single person was hurt.

Its just to show that they hit back a little symbolically.

Its nice to see that hope in your writings, that things will improve once boomers step off. I doubt you will be correct but I like it anyway. Lets hope for that. Cheers.

I think its capitalism that is pulling societies from plenty to scarcity, because that is what the system is designed to do. We didnt have ultra capitalism in the west until the last decade or so. You can blame boomers for becoming rich in that system, or you can realize that your generation would not make a difference.

Now we are in the end game of capitalism where billionaries own it all and the world turns into the masses being monitored by technology, while having just enough to pay the bills. Because if they had enough to stop working for the billionaires, they would.

I dont think any of this has to do with boomers specifically or that they were more selfish than others. It was just the time when capitalism were booming. Now its over and your generation is late to the party... Its just natural.

Perhaps on the other side of capitalism, something more fair comes along, or maybe humanity turns into fascism for a while.

That comment got deleted by mods. You could probably make your points in a better way. No reason to try and call me things when you can just state your reasons for disagreeing... Its fine to not agree.

Have you read history? When you say that 500.000 years passed and you feel those generations cared about the world, but boomers just dont, it sounds like you havent.

You make it sound like everything was just amazing and peaceful and selfless and then boomers just destroyed all of that... :) Read about history and how people treated eachother. America was created in 1776, founded on genocide of the native people. Everyone cared about eachother back then, looking out for eachother?

You can read about hundreds of these historic events around the world. Humanity has a history of taking things from eachother and being cruel. The way your generation looks at boomers as the problem is a bit strange. Its like you just woke up, and you look 20 years back and think you have identified boomers as the problem and now humanity is going to die because of them. Its a bit funny and you would see that yourself if you had my perspective.

One of the best things I read was an 1889 essay by Andrew Carnegie called The Gospel of Wealth. It makes the case that the wealthy have a responsibility to return their resources to society, a radical idea at the time that laid the groundwork for philanthropy as we know it today.

In the essay’s most famous line, Carnegie argues that “the man who dies thus rich dies disgraced.” I have spent a lot of time thinking about that quote lately. People will say a lot of things about me when I die, but I am determined that "he died rich" will not be one of them.

He blamed a "concerted effort" by other countries that offer incentives to attract filmmakers and studios, which he described as a "National Security threat".

"WE WANT MOVIES MADE IN AMERICA, AGAIN!"

US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick responded to the announcement, saying "We're on it".

This is an actual thing. I figured it was made up, but no, Trump is serious. :)

I know this sounds bad, but maybe this is a blessing in disguise. Necessity is the mother of invention and maybe browser technology should be funded by governments instead of privately owned advertising megacorps?

I always like these articles that question the common mindset and teach us something.

Of course at the same time, my hope for humans goes down, but thats another story... :)

No matter what happens, I believe the author is correct. Europe will not trust the US in a long time. Trump actually has managed to destroy the image of America in the entire world, in a few months.

Dont forget that nothing bad lasts forever, and previous generations went through wars and hardships too.

It certainly feels like madness is in control of the US, but its just greed and lust for power and attention. There is no difference between the undeveloped child that is taking the entire sandbox and these people. Some humans desire nothing more than to take from others until there is nothing left. Maybe its part of their spiritual evolution.

Perhaps there something to learn from their behavior. We get reminded of how not to be towards others. They are a very clear example of souls that feels much more primitive than the animals we have around us.

This too shall pass. :)

This is not dystopian at all, is it? Humans sleeping in pods. I guess it beats homelessness but this seems like a fail on epical levels (unless profits for these pod companies are what we care about).

It. Is. Never. Enough.

You paid hundreds of dollars for a new monitor, but it doesn't matter. More ads, more profits.

I hate it.

Kagi Snaps (help.kagi.com)

This is not revolutionary but it saves some keystrokes when wanting to limit results to certain sites.

Personally I don't really limit anything with Kagi. It's usually just finding what I want without having to do anything.

I wish I was a billion dollar company who gets away with stuff like this. Just generally break people's systems, add spyware, lie to users, treat them like shit.

All while making even more money and my stocks keep on going up, because AI, Ai, Ai...

The bike knows my height and weight and that's about it. From that it can calculate how my body burns calories?

Every body is very different, so I don't see how any calculation can be accurate.

I can't express how much I love hetzner doing this. There is a huge market for people who just need some instances and reliable/cheap object storage to run their apps.
