TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name
/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!
Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.
~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags.
Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'
~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.
Fun will now commence.

Just doing my part to spread the holiday cheer in the name of the Federation.
I recall a thread on Reddit years ago where a dude was claiming Die Hard isn't a christmas movie just because it takes place at Christmas time and listed a bunch of other requirements that everyone in the comments was pointing out Die Hard also meets.
The biggest one being that a miracle has to happen. Well, it's a fucking miracle that John survived.
It also "snows" in LA with white paper constantly raining from the sky.
If a movie has a scene take place at Xmas time.. It's NOT an Xmas movie
Die Hard takes place at the Xmas party, the soundtrack features Xmas songs, Xmas themes...it's an Xmas Movie!
For me, it is and that's my only requirement.
I just finished watching Patrick Stewart's version of a Christmas Carol ... worth it if you want some ACTING!
More partial to The Muppet Christmas Carol, though Stewart's performance is wonderful.
Slightly different vibe, but I guess it still counts for this thread thanks to the link to Pigs In Space
Pigs In Space
I forgot all about Captain Link Hogthrob lol.
He's almost too charismatic. You can't help but be like "yeah, he's right, maybe Christmas is a humbug..."
His portrayal of working out how to laugh near the end really got me.
I swear, that man could sell snow to Inuits
I love Patrick Stewart, but George C Scott will always be Scrooge to me.
Pfft, my son KILLED IT as Scrooge in his 4th grade school play. It inspired him to pursue a career as an unemployed actor, which he has been very successful at. The unemployed part, not the actor part.
Add First Blood to that list.
Similarly, Batman: Arkham Origins is a Christmas game.
Just watched Catch Me If You Can on Christmas night with the family, and there were several Christmas references. Definitely a Christmas movie, and prime Spielberg, DiCaprio, and Hanks.
Make sure to watch the complete version with the Geordie torture... For completeness sake.
Lethal Weapon and Batman Returns, too.
Let’s put it like this:
Star Trek in general has more Christmas spirit in it than all snowy/pinetree/happy clappy movies combined.
=> Fully automated luxury gay space communism.
Add Hawkeye to this now.
