How large per Carlos squared?

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 0 points 2 months ago (3 children)

I need Carlos to hold a banana for scale .... who knows ... Carlos could be a dwarf ... or a ten foot giant.

[–] Paradachshund@lemmy.today 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

How many football fields is Carlos?

[–] Stovetop@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

About 3/200 of a football field, or roughly 24 Big Macs.

[–] LovableSidekick@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Real Big Macs, or ad photo Big Macs that are twice as big?

[–] Stovetop@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Around 20 ad-tier Big Macs, or ~31 shrinkflation Big Macs in 2025. Unfortunately the Big Mac as a unit of measurement was standardized way back in '89 so it may not be as consistent with modern-day readings.

Now measuring in Baconators is likely to be more reliable when looking across a longer period of time, but you'll have to factor in the different conversion ratios depending on whether you're dealing with a single, double, or triple. The double is the base unit and is defined as 1/71 of a 1995 Ford F150.

Teenage Mutant Dumptruck Turtle?

[–] kamenlady@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago

The classic Carlos comment thread hijack.

[–] don@lemm.ee 0 points 2 months ago

Pretty sure that one’s turtley enough for the turtle club.

[–] tatann@lemm.ee 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm not good with car sizes, how many Dr Pepper is that ?

[–] GeeDubHayduke@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 2 months ago
[–] davidgro@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago

I'm disappointed that nobody here has asked the right question yet:

How many Smoots is a Carlos?

[–] egrets@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

This is Stupendemys geographicus from Urumaco, Venezuela, and Rodolfo Sánchez from Coro, Venezuela.

[–] milicent_bystandr@lemm.ee 0 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Thank you!

So why did it say Carlos? Just to make a joke on 'car'?

[–] mriormro@lemm.ee 0 points 2 months ago

Thank you, Carlos.

[–] thessnake03@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago

I want to know more about this turtle!

[–] SapphironZA@sh.itjust.works 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Is that a standard Carlos, or an imperial Carlos?

[–] 3laws@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago

Given that South America has a greater native genetic pool but still mixed genealogy, International Standard would be adept.

[–] AugustWest@lemm.ee 0 points 2 months ago
[–] sp3tr4l@lemmy.zip 0 points 2 months ago

I'm gonna need a Carlos to Cubit to Banana diagram.

With a slinky for scale.

[–] GeeDubHayduke@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 2 months ago

What's the exchange rate of Carlos to Carbonemys?

[–] Whats_your_reasoning@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Okay but is Carlos standing on a platform with a wall behind him, or is Carlos planking on a platform with the floor behind him?

[–] flicker@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 2 months ago

I came to ask if we were witnessing the plank master at work. Glad I wasn't the only one.

[–] milicent_bystandr@lemm.ee 0 points 2 months ago

He's just lying on a box sticking his legs out.

Looks like he's laying next to a giant Tollhouse cookie.

[–] alekwithak@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (2 children)

Having accidentally stood between a galloping leatherback and the ocean, I can confirm that some turtles are still as big as cars, or at least they look a lot like it when approaching you at 40mph.

I'm sure it was a friend to all children.

[–] Zacryon@feddit.org 0 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Idk... is Carlos an SI-compatible unit? Because if not, this could be any size. Maybe he is a dwarf, maybe a giant. It could me anything! /j

I really hope Carlos is getting paid to work there. Bet he has abs of steel, though! Dudes rockin' washboard abs but is far too modest to show them off.
