Love this. Literally came to make the same comment and it's the top one

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

A miserable little pile of secrets!

[–] Bishma@discuss.tchncs.de 26 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I feel like I need OregonNukeSailor's backstory. More for the name than the taxonomic viewpoints.

[–] MajorMajormajormajor@lemmy.ca 28 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

I'm no nameologist but I think it means they were a sailor who rode nukes around Oregon, like that one cowboy riding a nuke in that cold war documentary I watched.

Edit: here's a screenshot from the documentary

[–] untorquer@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

That kid was a prodigy. Landed that nuke softer than that jet blue with the sideways landing gear.

[–] kubofhromoslav@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago

Why not both?

[–] meekah@discuss.tchncs.de 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Why is only one username censored?

[–] FuCensorship@lemmy.today 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

He ain't gonna dox himself innit?

[–] Ziglin@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Pretty sure the others are enough to find the original thread.

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 8 points 2 days ago

The text alone is enough to find the original thread.

The coconut nut is a giant nut
If you eat to much you get veeery fat (very fat) The coconut nut is a delicious nut,
But most of all it's not a nut!

It's the cocofruit (it's the cocofruit)

Sigh, what’s the definition of milk?

Edit:

  1. A whitish liquid containing proteins, fats, lactose, and various vitamins and minerals that is produced by the mammary glands of all mature female mammals after they have given birth and serves as nourishment for their young.
  1. The milk of cows, goats, or other animals, used as food by humans.
  1. Any of various potable liquids resembling milk, such as coconut milk or soymilk.

It mentions coconut milk specifically

(/¯ ಠ_ಠ)/¯

[–] sik0fewl@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 days ago

A warm, white and creamy liquid.

[–] riquisimo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

But coconut milk is made by crushing the coconut meat and mixing it with coconut water. Coconuts don't make milk, they make water. Humans crush coconuts and call it milk.

[–] Grandwolf319@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago

That sounds like juice with fine pulp

[–] psud@aussie.zone 1 points 1 day ago

But if you asked for milk and they gave you anything made from a plant, you'd be right to reject it

Milk with no qualifiers is cow juice

[–] lividweasel@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

Two words:

Coconut nipples

[–] damnedfurry@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I don't know if "give" is a fair word to use there, lol

[–] JamesBoeing737MAX@sopuli.xyz 5 points 2 days ago

If you open up some other kind of animal, you also find liquid in it, it's just more red.

[–] thethunderwolf@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

No, in nature the mothers do "give" the milk to their young. Misuse of "give" when referring to dairy cows, however, is common.

[–] Vespair@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

bro they mean you gotta crack into the coconut.

Ok, seems like I misinterpreted it.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Rolls around on the floor in a little ball.

[–] tetris11@feddit.uk 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

squeaks when I cut into it with a knife

[–] Akasazh@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

According to Christopher Lee, one stabbed with a knife does not squeak, but sigh.

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 days ago

Yeah, Walken can tell you about how to smuggle a watch, though.

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Hey, I am entirely not trying to be an ass, but in situations like what just happened there, here is what I usually do:

Christoper ~~Walken~~ Lee (EDIT: Derp)

Something like that is what I try to do when I make a silly error, but want to showcase that I made the error, and then also accepted and made the correction.

That way, if somebody in the future, who reads only the edited version of the comment/post/thread sees it, they can understand that perhaps other comment chains based off of the initial error are not non sequiturs.

It also shows that you are humble and admit a mistake, and make a correction, which imo, are good things to showcase... as opposed to doing a 'stealth edit', which leaves no obvious signs of what the original comment was, in the comment itself.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Christopher Lee.

That's much better, thanks for the tip!

science rules!

[–] Sunflier@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Has hair, has milk (sort of), yes. But, it isn't mamal. It doesn't maintain an internal body temperature through endothermy.
