Where I grew up, we called it the MVA. I didn't learn that was relatively abnormal until almost my twenties.

In Maryland they call it MVA because their definition of "DMV" is "DC & Maryland & Virginia."

Everyone in those two states uses "DMV" synonymously with "DC/ Maryland/Virginia" which is the whole area that employs & houses White House & government & military & NSA, FBI, & CIA workers & the zillions of people who support it & remotely affiliated with it, families of govt workers & people born there & whoever else lives there for whatever reasons.

I, for one, left as soon as I could.
