She will quite literally absorb the male until he’s nothing but a pair of gonads hanging off her side and she just takes the sperm when she wants. The male ceases to exist at that point. Brutal.

Brutal? The male bites her in order to merge with her! He connects to her circulatory system and takes all his sustenance from her.

He has found his sugar momma and he’s never gonna give her up!

Like “he’s here for a good time, not a long time” kinda thing?

I think you’re putting that fillet on a pedestal. No flank is worth ceasing to exist😆

You have not met my girlfriend's flank.

He doesn't cease to exist, he becomes one with her!

I hate you both for that clickhole

I wonder how many males can be attached at once

The females can host multiple males, some fishermen have reported 8 or more males attached to a single female. The biggest limiting factor is them finding each other in the first place. Angler fish are solitary creatures and the ocean is fucking huge.

Oh as a lay person, this just keeps getting better and better...

Crab kind of looks like a cross between the Japanese giant spider crab and a king crab (the latter on account of only having three pairs of walking legs).

At first I thought they were a couple of worms that thought the lures were girls and they didn't notice the anglerfish at all.
