AFAIK, a cat should seem a little skinny by human logic. A vet can tell you more about how to tell, like how you're supposed to be able to clearly feel the ribs.

If your boy is visibly round, that's not muscle. A healthy cat is a straight line, or even slightly hourglass shaped.

To be sure, ask a vet. Cats are individuals, so it can vary.

Weigh him and consult with a veterinarian. Don't rely on random Internet strangers to determine healthy weight range for your cats.

Fat babies need the most attention.

That definitely looks fat.

Normally, the middle should be the thinnest part of the body, with the soulders and hips being the widest. A healthy cat can squeeze through any gap their head can fit through, but your boy looks like that abdomen would stop him.

I have a chubby boy (we're working on it, I swear), he can still squeeze through tight spaces if he wants to. He just typically doesn't want to.

That cat is definitely overweight

pets dont feel body shame, its entirely human made concept.

There's no way humans are the only species that have gender dysphoria, that would be wild

[–] chonglibloodsport@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Not possible. Cats are incapable of feeling shame!
