Tbh, I don't even know if I want to support my local OF entrepreneurs. The ones I've seen in my area on dating apps give me the Instagram narcissist ick.
I have a friend who in pretty into onlyfans. He treats it as a relationship, has talks about his day with models, dumps life stuff.. I dont think its healthy but its a substitute for a SO for him.. So id say lonely people do..

As the guy who buys his own wine and isn't that picky, I'd much rather open a $5 bottle than one ten times that price. Especially if it's a sweet red; then I can get an order of magnitude more drink than the snob who likes sour grapes.
(And, honestly, $50 is way too much for a common bottle of wine. Even $30 is nearly in the realm of conspicuous consumption.)

If it's in your 'private wine cellar,' either you already paid for it or it was gifted, still free-ish. If your wife is making you pay to 're-taste the honeymoon wine,' you might have other problems.

I imagine they use it for the same reason I use Patreon: if i like the content someone is producing, I would like to see them compensated for it. Artists and other creators whose work I love deserve to have nice things. If I can symbolically buy these people lunch on a monthly basis every so often, that's quite nice.
I subbed for a couple of months because the model blew my hair back, wanted to see more pics and see what here videos were like. Only wrote her once to say I appreciated the hard work and creativity she put in on makeup, promotion and costumes. Because of all that, I figured she deserved a few bucks.

It turns out that most models make next to nothing. So there are some "whales" paying for porn but they probably have specific fetishes they are getting models to cater to via their money. So I think that's the answer: men who either have a specific fetish, or their fetish is the attention they think their $50 a month is affording them. It's like micro dosing a prostitute.
Even though most porn is free, there is still that one artist that only posts teasers to the free sites. I haven't seen her full videos leaked yet, but I REALLY want to see the full video...
