Couple of tips for working with toner:
Wear a mask and gloves. You do not want to breathe that. Last time I worked with toner the material safety data sheet read "Contents partially unknown."
If you get it on you (and you will) brush off most of what you can and then wash the rest in COLD water. Hot water will make it stick.
I find the trouble to be not worth the effort.
As jordanlund says, do not mess with toner.
It's tiny particles and not healthy and world ruin you vacuum (and spread it).
Carcinogenic plastic micro particles? Just don't.
Yeah, I would buy an aftermarket toner instead. Having been doused in toner in the past, I do not recommend it
Don't bother with doing it manually. It's a waste of time and money. Just look into generic cartridges.
If you get any on your skin, DO NOT USE WARM WATER. Cold water only to wash it off.
I've replaced a C8000 versalink toner basin with a C7000 versatile toner basin... Do not manually relocate the toner particles. It's not worth your lung health. You cannot vaccuum it, it's hard to even wipe up without piercing the paper towels you use and getting all over you.
The powder itself could be different as well, you would need to refer to the temperature of the fuser. If it's the same, then it's probably the same.
Thanks for your advices. I wouldn't try it, And I will search an aftermarket toner instead.
Make sure that the aftermarket brand is fine with your model though. I have been buying recycled toners at half-price for years and never had any problem.
Also yes, I've seen it a lot but playing with toner is described as getting instant cancer, don't do that.
