that was around the same time local radio collapsed and I heart radio and other conglomerates took over. not long after media ownership rules changed. I don't think it was the artists who changed.
The girl's musicians are folk, not country. That's kind of the main purpose of the distinction.

Country music is the lowest form of "art" on the planet. Braindead flag-waving bullshit.
Bullshit. There's a bunch of different subgenres of country. Stadium country is the kind that most people are referencing when they say they hate country music. I'm quite fond of old country.
There's good country music. Most of Stevie nicks for example.
Also there's blue grass which is what most people think country should be before they listen to the modern mainstream crap.
I will never, ever, apologize for liking Billy Strings, Michael Cleveland, or Doc Watson.
