From experience, I can tell you this is actually short haired vs long haired people. You can't really grow out your hair without the ends going to shit if you mistreat it.

When I grew my hair out for the first time I mentioned to a woman that it was so much more work than I thought it would be.
She said "what you have to shampoo and condition now?"
I had no idea how important conditioning was, I could run a comb through my hair again without pulling half of it out after conditioning for the first time. The 2 in 1 mens shampoo did not work.
Well, yeah, mine looks like crap, but I don't have the time to care, and the long hair hides the large patch of psoriasis on the back of my neck.
Even literally just using the right shampoo as opposed to something like body wash can make a big difference, in case you're interested
But I don't even know what that means. Hell, in the past I even used soap bar for the hair.
My father apparently used to get his hair complimented, he apparently used the fucking laundry detergent.
If you're talking about a "large patch of psoriasis" that is apparently always on your skin and don't know the first thing about cleaning and moisturizing products for your hair and skin, it might be worth exploring whether your psoriasis is aggravated by certain substances (including your hair touching your skin) and can be mitigated by consciously avoiding certain products/ingredients.
It doesn't really seem to be affected by anything much. Prescription corticosteroids made it mostly go away for a while, but it returned larger. Birch tar shampoo helped with the itch, but people around me very clearly didn't like when I used it. I don't know if I am the only weird person liking the smell of burnt wood, but yeah, it's quite strong.
Find out what your hair 'needs'. Is it dry and kinda straw like? Are the tips frayed? Does it poof up? Does it frizz, ie are there many stray hairs flying around?
In general though, hydrating shampoo helps with growing out unless you have suuuuper oily hair, in which case you should use a clarifying shampoo, but only rub it onto your scalp.
“Shimmer is a floor wax AND a dessert topping.”
Out of liquid shower soap? No problem we got some of that carpet cleaner stuff.
REI sells a liquid that pretty much does this for when you go camping.
Are you talking about Dr Bronns, which also comes with large amounts of reading material printed all over the bottle?
Dr. Bronners is goated. Best soap
No, it was something else I’ve never heard of, geared specifically towards camping.
Toothpaste, Toilet cleaner, Ketchup
Men: If hair is damaged, cut it off.
Women: socialized from a young age to uphold beauty standards or else be treated worse for being 'ugly'
Men: 6 in 1 shampoo go brrr
