Summary

Democrats celebrated Susan Crawford's 10-point win in Wisconsin’s state supreme court race over Elon Musk-backed Brad Schimel, preserving the court’s 4-3 liberal majority.

Musk, who spent $25M supporting Schimel, faced online ridicule, including a post from the Democrats’ official account showing him in a cheese head labeled “Loser.”

They cast the result as a rejection of Trump’s agenda and Musk’s influence. Crawford called it a victory over the “richest man in the world.”

Republicans questioned Musk’s impact. Trump stayed silent but celebrated narrower GOP House wins in Florida

Musk on Twitter: "I expected to lose, but there is value to losing a piece for a positional gain."

Still trying his best to make us think he's playing 3 dimensional chess.

[–] RamblingPanda@lemmynsfw.com 33 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Maybe he IS playing 3 dimensional chess, but he is still losing

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, he's trying to play 3 dimensional chess (and also doing that poorly, mind you), while we're trying to like...build a house. Our goals aren't aligned, our actions aren't aligned, our resources aren't aligned.

Meanwhile Trump is holding all the cards, playing uno.

Hamberders, the game

[–] MagicShel@lemmy.zip 11 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Uno? That sounds too DEI for Trump. I'd say more like 52-pickup.

[–] Poppa_Mo@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Yep. Uno was picked up by ICE and sent to The Salvador.

He made Mattel print a deck for him that just says "TARIFF" on the card backs.

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago

Boy, that is a great visual and a fantastic burn. I'm going to be stealing that, thank you.

“Im playing chess in 10 different dimensions, and I’m losing them all!”

[–] frezik@midwest.social 20 points 1 day ago

Chess is a game that dumb people think all smart people are good at. That's why they keep bringing up these chess metaphors.

Him saying “I expected to lose” is the saddest/funniest thing about this dystopia we live in. The rapists play the victim harder than anyone.

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 78 points 1 day ago

Imagine committing a crime to buy an election, spending $25 million dollars for it and still losing?

Get fucked.

Just another reminder is that the worst thing that can happy to Elon from our collective rejection is for him to have to get a job. This is what he's so desperate not to do that he'll sacrifice democracy itself for. Tax the rich into the center of the earth.

Oh does he 'endure' it Grauniad? Awwww

Is he gonna call us all huge jerks for laughing at him?

Gutted. Wish I’d seen it.

[–] xc2215x@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

As Elon should.
