Whether it is migration, abortion, or economy - politicians have tremendous power to create issues where there were none. The EU and the USA are obviously friends, that’s a realistic observation. But Trump spins a narrative, which can easily lead to conflict or war. In the process, pressure is removed from Putin‘s dictatorship in Russia.

Honestly, fuck Republicans man.
I've been seeing more "Canada is our 51st State" shit pop up and a few of my friends that go to the States for business have been openly saying it to their face.
The fact that their attitudes towards Ukraine has shifted so much just shows how fucking useless they are as independent thinkers.
Fuck you Republicans.
The world won't forget.
Who the f takes these polls?
The same people who serve on juries.
And who vote.
And who think "I sucker-punched them and now they're mad? Well, fuck them, then!"
Good question, only the most politically active would, so self-selection is definitely at play. Therefore this does not respect external validity through a non-overfitted model, and we can't use these results to generalize about the greater public sadly.
Can't really reach any conclusions from the trends shown due to that.
Ah, the good ol' "draw a random line that looks sorta right" curve-fitting method.
Looks like a LOWESS curve (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_regression). They always overfit, but are still useful to show trends. The main danger is that they get wonky near the limits of the data. Note that that increase at the end of the left plot for Democrats looks like it is increasing -but that increase looks to be 100% dependent on that single data point for '25. Obviously, you never want your analysis to be dependent on a single point like that.
Dear, America. As a Canadian, I have never met another Canadian who thought that the USA had anyone's interests in mind but their own. The only shocking part of this is that every level of your government was able to fail so completely at the same time.
The feeling's mutual
Yeah, I've been worried about this. Doug Ford putting up ads and showing up on US TV, explaining what we're doing to them with our counter tariffs. I wonder if this does more harm than good. Our tariffs would create inflation for some. The businesses know what's up and where to complain. The regular Americans on the other hand tend to pin inflation on the current president. If we go in front of them and say we did this, regardless of the reason we give, I think a good number might pin it on us. After all American Exceptionalism runs rampant.
Doug Ford putting up ads and showing up on US TV, explaining what we're doing to them with our counter tariffs.
As long as he also says why we're pissed off and reminds them that we didn't start this fight.
Which he has been doing so far in the interviews I have seen.
Yes but do you trust Fox to not cut the clip off or quote only up to what he said we're doing to them? Or people to just pay enough attention other than "Canadian guy said he's making my shit more expensive and risking my jeb"
Graph seriously needs a labeled y-axis. Content paywalled.
So click on the archive link?
The label is above. The graphs communicate clearly.
But the one that is designed to draw you in and have an immediate negative reaction isn't labeled at all. It's just an unlabeled hockey stick graph designed to upset people.
"US Voters, % Agreeing" applies to both charts. It's a single diagram.
This is all bog standard shit. We don't actually follow the 'rules' set forth in Grade 7 math class. You know that, right? Things that are obvious with just the slightest bit of reading for understanding are usually not repeated.
I don't think you are aware of what we are talking about, and you're being an asshole.
Let's start with: there are two pictures.
Let's move on to: one has labelled axes, the other does not.
Now: reread the thread, and try to feel extra dumb to make up for what a dick you just were.
They're getting heated yeah, but I don't see the issue with the graphs.
The x-axis is the year (not labelled, but reasonably inferred)
The Y-axis is percent of Americans agreeing (numbered on the right instead of the usual left, but explained in the header)
The labels are there in the current version on the page. The lines are at intervals pf 10% starting at 0.
It years. 2025 is close to 24 because it is a partial year.
