Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Oh, so it's okay the files are released in their entirety? Maybe this statement counts as an order to release the files.

What happened to, "there aren't any epstein files, it was all a hoax by the radical left?"

[–] Kushan@lemmy.world 29 points 4 days ago (1 children)

It's not real but if it is then it's a hoax and if it's not a hoax it's okay to fuck kids.

[–] SendMePhotos@lemmy.world 10 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Because they're older kids, it's not pedophilia, right? Just gotta think of a new angle!

[–] potpotato@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago (8 children)

15 is basically 16 is basically 17 and de facto 18. Wham bam, case closed.

Schröedinger's files!

[–] Una@europe.pub 61 points 4 days ago

Even better, just release them :3

[–] foggy@lemmy.world 51 points 4 days ago

He doesn't care?

Then tell us who bubba is!? Who'd you blow? Who's knob did you gobble? We're all dying to know, Mr. Doesn't Care.

[–] K3zi4@lemmy.world 45 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Thought they didn't exist, Donny boy?

[–] mycodesucks@lemmy.world 43 points 4 days ago (3 children)

It's very simple...

He doesn't care if the files, which don't exist, get released, which he could do unilaterally, but he won't, since he doesn't care, because he's not in them, and they're a political hit job by the democrats, or they would be, if they were real, but they aren't.

Got it?

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

He's tried every other argument, now he's trying reverse psychology again

Demented old fool has forgotten he's in them

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 17 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Nah. I'm sure he knows he's in them. He probably just thought he could tell one of his sycophants to remove or redact his name like they could just do a "find all" and delete. He probably thinks his name has been scrubbed.

[–] bamboo@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 4 days ago

They probably did that but it didn't match DONNI TEE which is how that email got released

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 30 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Maybe the only part he was worried about getting out was him sucking a guy's dick

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 9 points 4 days ago (1 children)
[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Why should he care if they prove he committed heinous crimes? Nothing is going to be done about it

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 6 points 4 days ago (4 children)

Sucking a guy's dick isn't a crime, but sex with a minor sure is.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 12 points 4 days ago (1 children)

He has already been convicted of multiple other felonies and doesn’t serve time. Why should this be any different?

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 4 points 4 days ago

I don't know that it would be, but he sure seems to think so. I think him trying so desperately to cover it up for so long has made it more damaging than it would have been if he'd just owned it when his cult was clamoring for the files to be released. He'd downplay it with his usual word salad, news articles would be written about how terrible it was, and nothing of consequence would happen to him. Now, though? It's not just about the horrendous crimes, but his betrayal of his conspiracy theorist cult. Maybe it would still amount to nothing, but he hasn't done himself any favors by alienating his cultists.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me how Trump will face repercussions for these crimes when he hasn't for any other crimes. Who is going to prosecute him? What is the plan if the files prove he committed heinous crimes? Since he's clearly immune to all consequences of crimes, I think he's more concerned about people thinking he's gay

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 7 points 4 days ago (2 children)

IF anything happens to him, it will be because he has eroded the trust of his conspiracy theorist cult by trying to cover up his pedophilia more than the pedophilia itself. A lot of his power is derived from his cult, which the Republicans are terrified of alienating. If he loses enough of their support, Republicans won't be so hell-bent on protecting him at all costs. It's a big "if."

Suuuure he doesn't care..

(That's why he's got Pam Bondi digging through them to find dirt on the Democrats.)

He's gotta act cool, no matter what..

[–] Gerudo@lemmy.zip 21 points 4 days ago (3 children)

I'm 100% sure there are democrats in the files. However, the fact that they haven't released any den names or tried to prosecute any sure is interesting.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 4 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

Would be difficult to use the actual documents to pick and choose only Democrats to prosecute while protecting Republicans. Might as well just make everything up at at that point.

[–] Gerudo@lemmy.zip 3 points 4 days ago

Isn't that what they are already doing? They have been cherry-picking dems and blue states to prosecute for everything else. Even the redistricting in Texas is being looked past while they turn around and do it to California.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

So? I'm sure there is too. Release them all.

[–] Gerudo@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 days ago

I'm not saying not to, lock em all up if they are in there. It's just funny that they haven't released a single dem name to even finger point at.

hot take: drumpf has lived in fear of the day pootin releases his p(enis blowing) tape and secretly can't wait for the sweet release of death at the hands of the heir apparent. Any day now...

That's not what he's telling his toadies in Congress

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 10 points 3 days ago

Translation: he really, really cares.

[–] tonytins@pawb.social 10 points 4 days ago

After dodging this issue for over a year? Press X to doubt.

[–] Gates9@sh.itjust.works 8 points 3 days ago (1 children)

There are no consequences for anything that he’s done, so why would he care?

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 3 points 3 days ago

He probably panicked at some point because of it, but realised what country he's king in.

The Narcissist's Prayer

  • That didn't happen.
  • And if it did, it wasn't that bad.
  • And if it was, that's not a big deal.
  • And if it is, that's not my fault.
  • And if it was, I didn't mean it.
  • And if I did, you deserved it.

Good news everyone!

[–] Yeller_king@reddthat.com 3 points 4 days ago

Yeah, he definitely seems pretty sanguine about it.

lol, we shall see when that order comes across his desk.

[–] Don_alForno@feddit.org 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You don't think that means they are done purging every copy of the files in existence of any mention of people in his corner?

[–] MourningDove@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 days ago

Either the pedo-files have been scrubbed, or he got the go ahead to have the DOJ tie it up in an investigation so that he can now say, “I really wish we could show them, but my hands are tied!”
