I started the day with the news that Dick Cheney is dead. Now I'm ending it with news that Zohran Mamdani is mayor. It's been the best day in a long, long time.

VOTER FRAUD! There's NO WAY someone who Campaigned on Helping the Middle Class could BEAT a Sex Offender with Billionaire Sugar Daddies! There's NO WAY!

Billionaire funding = wasted

We have a long slog ahead of us. But today was a good day.

A win for the people! Cuomo's campaign expenses were $56 million, 2.5 times higher than Mamdani's. Cuomo was mostly funded by billionaires, while Mamdani had mostly small sum contributions.

Why are capitalists so bad at investments?? Weren't they supposed to be the smart entrepreneurs?

AP calls the race for Mamdani as well.

My country's (very politically aligned) public news station described Mamdani as "communist" and "anti-Semitic".

It is crazy what giving people to vote for something, instead just voting against someone can produce some great results. Mamdani had to take on a class on billionaires and the old DNC leadership he who didn't want to back him. It is funny af to see Chuck the leader of Dems show vote blue no matter who was fake. He most likely voted for Cuomo.

My mother, the only family that I have left that I will talk to sent me a text asking if any other cities will have a "radical Islamist" mayor. I ignored it because I could not find the words to explain that what she described isn't a thing without destroying the one connection to my family I have left.
