trump obviously is unwell...

But Johnson's sure as shit didn't admit it in the clip they posted, or really in the quote:

The new footage, aired by MSNBC’s All In with Chris Hayes on Wednesday night, shows Dean telling Johnson, “The president is unhinged. He is unwell.”

Johnson then responds, “A lot of folks on your side are too, I don’t control him...” seemingly conceding Dean’s point that the president is unwell but arguing that he isn’t alone.

Seemingly by the greatest stretch of imagination.

He's nodding his head anxiously and shrugs right before.

He's not admitting anything, he's deflecting. The only thing shocking is he didn't say Biden's name, because that geriatric fuck normalized trump

You know what, this is why Democrats lose the messaging game and lose elections.

Hate the game but play it FFS.

No, the reason neoliberals lost the messaging war, was they think like conservatives instead of like the Dem voting base.

They see what works on trump voters, shove it down Dem voters throats, and act fucking shocked a decade later when it's still not fucking working.

If what works on Republican voters worked on Dem voters, wed all be Republican voters already.

This shit doesn't work on Dem voters, and Republicans are so far up Trump's ass, they'll literally never see it

All it does is piss off the actual "middle" who aren't loyal to either party and think the main problem is neoliberals are too similar to Republicans.

We win their votes by being not Republicans not acting more like Republicans.

I disagree.

The game to be played here isn't about Democratic voters here, they suck very much in their own way with their whiney "I refuse to vote if it's not my candidate I voted for in the primary" but that's a different but definitely a problem from Democrats and sucking so much balls in messaging.

We're talking about the Average American voter here, the Green Day/George Carlin idiots who get their news from just the headlines or snippets from their favorite podcaster and that's the majority of the voters here. And guess what, that Republican lying works and works very, very well.

Just look at what we had in the 2024 election, exit polls showed that voters were upset over the direction of the economy as one of the biggest issues.

We had a bumbling idiot and a bumbling idiot and a bunch of bumbling idiots who couldn't get over talking about inflation lowering in the abstract and the IRA while basically ignoring what the non-voting, average American was actually clamoring for, "Why in the hell are my groceries so damn high and what are you going to do about it?".

The lies that were overly simplified, stupid, and not based on any sense of reality that Trump and the rest of them pushed onto the news, onto social media, onto podcasts were all over the place and guess what, it works on Americans.

So again, play the game of Calvinball here.

“I refuse to vote if it’s not my candidate I voted for in the primary

Well, the great news is the last time that happened was 2008 when Obama beat the neo liberal.

It's just when neolinerals lose the primary, it literally doesn't matter what they do in the general

The meh news is now that we finally have a non biased DNC, the neoliberals will do it again But like I said, when we have a popular candidate in the general, we don't need neoliberals in the general.

You should read up more on modern American political history ...

You're just repeating billionaire talking points.

Trump's dementia is not the disease. It's just a symptom. America's fetish with old politicans is the disease. The average age of the Senate is 64, old enough to be AOC's grandparents.

Everyone in Congress and Senate needs a term limit of two terms. 8 years and GTFO or they just become corrupt assholes.

[–] Breezy@lemmy.world 3 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

If that's what he said then some media is just dicking around like normal. I dont blame them, nor do i believe them.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 1 points 4 weeks ago

Hesitant to give them clicks, but they have video and audio of it in the article.

But this is some shit we used to only see from republicans as far as accurate reporting.

[–] amanneedsamaid@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I politely disagree, saying "too" is as blatant of an agreement as he could've said. He tried to deflect, but failed and agreed.

[–] jaxxed@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It's not a negation, but it is an anti-truth what-aboutism, which is meant to make the truthfulness of the statement insignificant.

[–] amanneedsamaid@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I think it's an attempt at an anti-truth what-aboutism, which Mike Johnson failed to come up with and accidentally agreed.

[–] jaxxed@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

He didn't pull it off well.

[–] Uruanna@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

Define unwell. He and she are not talking about the same thing, he's not agreeing with her, he's muddying the water on what anyone is talking about.

Like "he's committing genocide, he's crazy" "but what about cinnamon rolls, that's crazy too" is not him agreeing, it's him changing the subject.

[–] amanneedsamaid@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 weeks ago

So your point is that Johnson only agrees that he's unwell, but not unhinged? Also, your example isn't even close to the same flow of conversation. He didn't reply with a deflection, he literally said "And some people on your side are too". Whether he intended to agree or not is debatable, but his statement is absolutely agreeing because he used the word "too" AND didn't mention anything completely unrelated like in your example.

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

Trump could be 6ft under and Mike would still say he’s gonna get better.

[–] Zephorah@discuss.online 6 points 4 weeks ago

No kidding. The speech he just gave he talked like he needed a nasal cannula with oxygen.

The medical part of the family was discussing this. We all think he’s about ready to shuffle off the mortal coil after watching that speech. Natural causes.

The dark spot on the hand everyone’s been on about looks like a bruise from an IV or blood draw. Not uncommon in the elderly, even tiny bumps against furniture can cause bruising. They tend to be bigger and last longer when you’re on blood thinners. The back of the hand commonly has viable veins for both.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Typical Daily Beast bullshit.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 weeks ago

yah, fuck them, Trump incarceration has been imminent since 2016.

[–] HurlingDurling@lemmy.world 2 points 4 weeks ago

Whatever that means. Is he unwell as in he is messed up in the head? Or, in the sense he's about to die?
