We got Measles, guys!! Running amuck too with amazingly overpriced healthcare!!

How great is that!

Also we will have you deported to an El Salvador concentration camp if you say the words genocide and Israel together!

[–] Curiousfur@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

You forget that if you say them together in that order while flying a Dixie flag and a swastika you can get a police escort, it's only wrongspeak when you say that Israel is committing a genocide and ask for them to stop doing it.

”I think that you'd be a lot better having coming under the United States Security umbrella than you have been under the Denmark security umbrella," he said during remarks at Pituffik Space Base

I’m pretty sure after the end of ww2 the only war Denmark has been a part of outside of UN/Nato responsibilities was the Whiskey war, which was cheeky and fun. Unlike America, which for is basically in a forever war with (today’s villain of the week). Not sure I’d call that safer.

[–] Venus_Ziegenfalle@feddit.org 4 points 2 days ago

"Outside of NATO responsibilities" doesn't quite do the situation justice. Iraq, Afghanistan. The Danish Army went whereever the US asked them to go. Rarely anyone in Europe truly believed that these wars were necessary or even beneficial to protect our borders but most countries went anyway because it was what America wanted. This is how the current administration shows its gratitude.

[–] Nightwingdragon@lemmy.world 24 points 2 days ago

I still refuse to understand how the hell Pituffik exists.

The US is literally threatening to take territory of one of its own allies by force. I am absolutely amazed that this wasn't interpreted as a declaration of war itself. The first thing Denmark should have done is demanded the closure of that base, expelling US diplomats, and telling Vance and his convoy to go fuck themselves.

And if you want to go see just how much of an alternate reality the MAGA crowd lives in, go to a conservative subreddit. They are literally using the Russian playbook and claiming that citizens of Greenland want to be a part of the US and are welcoming this with open arms while discussing news reports of protests with people holding signs saying 'Yankees Go Home'.

And no, it's not because Greenland really hates New York baseball teams. They literally couldn't find a single family willing to host the VP and his family for a propaganda video and had to cut the trip due to the reaction, and they're painting this as a win.

They are literally doing to Greenland what Russia does to Ukraine in order to justify forced annexation.

Murica is the biggest shit hole on the planet!

[–] Yawweee877h444@lemmy.world 21 points 2 days ago

The entire planet and all humans would be better off without American conservatives. Full stop.

If Trump wanted a 51st state, all it would take would be a tweet.

The people of that state wouldn't object. The democrats wouldn't object. The state could be a part of the union before the end of his term. Every flag flying from now until a hypothetical 52nd state gets added, people could point and say "That 51st star - that new design - that was all president Trump." He was the reason the flag is like that - he would be remembered every time anyone in any capacity flies an American flag.

But he won't do it.

Because he hates Puerto Ricans.

[–] Freshparsnip@lemm.ee 6 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

By the end of his presidency, he's gonna strip Puerto Ricans of citizenship

[–] redlemace@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Hey listen! In less than three months we made sure the whole world is looking at us and talk about us. Not once but the whole time! WE are the center of the universe! That we trashed the trust and respect from the US citizens, our fiends, allies and enemies isn't that important! Neither is the fact we threatened you a couple of times. We are convinced you can't wait to join us or to be conquered by us!

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

War

They are declaring war without officially declaring war.

[–] arrow74@lemm.ee 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

On a NATO nation, wonder if they'll all attack us in retaliation

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 6 points 2 days ago

They already have a base there, they could easily use the Russian strategy of little green men suddenly taking over the island. I don't think Denmark is taking this seriously enough. I'd be training every able person in the use of a rifle and give everyone a rifle to take home, Switzerland style. And legalise shooting Americans on sight.

If Greenland joined the US, Greenland would lose all of its land on the account of all the ice melting due to Trump’s policies.

[–] vegeta@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

It will soon be a BEAUTIUL tropical paradise. Some people say the most beuatiful paradise anyone has seen in a very long period of time. Many people came to me with tears in their eyes and said Sir you are a GENIUS for wanting greenlind, it could be almost as beatiful as MAR A LAGO. Under the protection of the GREATEST NATION IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD. Greenland could experience a GOLDEN AGE unlike it has never seen before.

Can't tell if fake, not googling anything that buffoon says, assuming it's real because that buffoon says things way stupider than this on the regular

[–] vegeta@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Once we allow the warm weather, which has been much warmer in the past, we will have MILLIONS AND MILLIONS more gallons of BEAUTIFUL FRESH AND CRYSTAL CLEAR water. We will have so much water that we will never have wildfires again, Farmers will make more money than ever before, and we will solve many of the WORLDS POTATOBLE AND HUNGER CRISIS. Thanks to the GREATEST PRESIDENT in the HISTORY OF THE COUNTRY. Of Course the FAKE NEWS media will find something negative to say. Thank you TRUMP!!!

That's exactly why they want it and Canada.

Never believe them when they pretend to not believe in climate change.

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 2 points 2 days ago

Yeah, all the countries in the area are maneuvering to have control over a northern passage when it eventually emerges.

[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

What he means: you’ll be better off under us as Russia will only attack its enemies, not its allies …

So dumb, Canada is the obvious option if they need a partner. In fact they should get Canada to put a base next to ours, then tell us to leave.

[–] Freshparsnip@lemm.ee 5 points 2 days ago

And he wonders why he and his wife aren't welcome there

The only way that would be true is if war was coming to Greenland.

😳

Americans tell Vance he'd be better as a boat anchor
