ABC has agreed to resume production of Jimmy Kimmel's show. However, that's only part of the story. The FCC' Brendan Carr didn't threaten ABC directly, he threatened the broadcast licenses of ABC affiliate stations who refused to preempt Kimmel. Those affiliates then pressured ABC by saying they would refuse to air Kimmel anyway, so there was no point in producing the show.
Now we need to make sure that the owners of those affiliates feel the pain. Two broadcast groups in particular were guilty of caving to Carr: Nexstar, which slightly conservative and is seeking a merger with Tegna, and Sinclair, which is consistently very conservative.
We need to reach out to all the affiliates owned by Nexstar and Sinclair, and tell them that if all their ABC affiliates do not air Kimmel, we will boycott their stations and any other holdings. Find the stations in your area, and phone those stations.
