It's fucked up that the UK can throw together a huge protest on a whim but here in USA we require months of planning. USA really sucks at protesting.

Goes back to many decades of eroding workers rights and unions.

If you can be fired for just appearing in a website setup by far right assholes "reporting" on comments they don't like. You definitely won't be going to a protest and ensuring you have no way to feed yourself and family afterwards.

People showed up for the no kings in large numbers. I think the organizers just suck at protesting and don't actually care about their causes

Maybe we can, but this isn't it. Whether to allow a state visit by Trump has been an issue since he was elected, and the general dissent has been going on since then. The date for this has been known long in advance.

Since our government knew there would be so many protests, the 'state visit' has consisted of trying to keep him hidden away from the public as much as possible - off to visit the prime minister's secluded country estate, rather than at Downing Street in the middle of London where it would be easy to hold a massive demonstration.
