3 in 4 conservative lawmakers don't actually follow said Bible. News at 11.

[–] LuxSpark@lemmy.cafe 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I find it hard to believe that any of them do.

Proverbs 6:16-19

There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

Ya, not a single one of them.

How can you tell when someone's rushing into evil with their feet?

[–] Rocketpoweredgorilla@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago

They think 'woke' is a bad thing?

Why do so many Texans reject the actual teachings of the bible AND America?

[–] LuxSpark@lemmy.cafe 2 points 1 week ago

Ironically, those same teachings: thoughtless belief and bottomless greed.

[–] desmosthenes@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (2 children)

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Those were some of the "pilgrims". Many founders were Deists and would have been candidates for victims of the Inquisition.

And now their kids will never learn it in the first place

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Absolutely sickening but on the plus side, less competition for everyone else's kids.
