Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

They said in the hearing today that there wasn't anything classified in there.

I say that he releases it completely unredacted and see what they say about it then.

[–] PointyReality@lemmy.world 37 points 5 days ago

Exactly my thought when I heard that. I was like then there wont be an issue releasing them. I love how they all did not answer a thing during the hearing as well, at least Hilary had the guts to answer the questions during the Benghazi hearing.

The White House has denied war plans were texted to the group, and Hegseth on Monday denied the reporting as well, calling Goldberg “a deceitful and highly discredited, so-called journalist who’s made a profession of peddling hoaxes time and time again.”

Fuck it, I say call their bluff and release it.

Will he be the first journalist to disappear?

[–] Catma@lemmy.world 13 points 5 days ago

Nah. He is just going to trip and fall out a window.

No, ICE already kidnapped political prisoners from Colombia journalism school

I thought it was quite clear in the Atlantic article that there were references to undercover or active agents and that leaking that information would put them in danger. Also on another note I was thinking about today, am I crazy or did Trump leak some text or messages in his first administration that led to the deaths of active intelligence agents? I can't seem to find anything about it.

[–] drzoidberg@lemmy.world 43 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Trumps first administration saw an unheard of amount of CIA Agent deaths, and has been alluded to the fact that Trump gave that info to Putin and other foreign enemies. And by unheard of, I mean that literally. The CIA rarely, if ever, announces assets have died, and the fact that they announced that dozens of assets around the world disappeared, is insane, because the only way this could have happened at this magnitude, would be if someone gave a list to an enemy of the US.

trump did leak on TV the classified keyhole satellite photos of an Iranian rocket test. It wasn't so much the rocket that was classified, but the release of the picture showed resolution not thought possible with spy satellites in orbit at the time. So what he did was tell all our enemies what we could see from orbit of theirs.

If he was gonna, he would have. I hope I'm wrong.

Didn’t he say that he deleted everything once he verified that the texts were real? I haven’t read the article yet, but the title seems peculiar

Edit: now, having read the article, my question persists

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 24 points 5 days ago

I believe he said that he logged out of the chat as soon as he verified the texts were real, and that the texts in the chat were set to auto-delete in 1 to 4 weeks (different texts set to expire at different times).

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 23 points 5 days ago (1 children)

As the other commenter said, he left the chat. No way he didn't vigorously archive every aspect of the chat he was party to.

Yeah you can just export entire chats through the web api, shouldnt be difficult.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 11 points 5 days ago

Good. Do it.

[–] Xanza@lemm.ee 10 points 4 days ago

If it's not classified information then it's reportable. It was sent to a reporter it needs to be reported.
