I'm glad Bob Ross is still popular. He was always my go-to in the early morning after a night of partying, and his skills were even more impressive when I was sitting on the couch, dazed and confused, with the loot from the fridge spread out in front of me.

Bob Ross was always on at 2:00 on PBS, which lined up perfectly for me finishing college classes and getting home. It was always such a nice way to de-stress after school.

Years later when I would babysit my 2 year old nephew, I found that it was actually a good show for kids to watch and calm down. Something about his whole demeanor is just magical.

I'd say Bob Ross is always a good choice – in any context and for all age groups.

agreed! so much humble skill on display and trying to impart that upon the world, instead of hiding it and charging out the ass

Could you imagine a modern day Bob Ross? "And now we're going to mix a little Titanium White with some Phthalo Green - and while we're doing that, don't forget to like and subscribe."

Today we’re going to make a beautiful landscape together, but before we put brush to canvas, I’ve got to tell you about something very important…

Today’s painting is sponsored by Canson. Canson paper is smooth, durable, and perfect for all your happy accidents.

Isn’t that just wonderful? Click the link down in the description, or use my promo code HAPPYTREES15 at checkout to save on your next purchase and support the channel.

To be fair, there's a bunch of channels on YT where people just quietly and calmly do something they're good at. But you don't really see them.

I would download a bunch a watch them when I would fly. Makes the stress of traveling a lot easier.

He’s one of the original ASMR masters.

I used to live watching The Woodright’s Shop saturdays on PBS too. Amazing skill and sharp ass chisels are fun to watch.

When he cleans his brushes? Ecstasy.

Too bad all that aerosolized acetone probably killed home though. That’s unfortunately all I can think of when I hear that sound now.

Surprised no one has mentioned:

AVOID BOB ROSS BRAND PRODUCTS!! The family doesn't get ANY of that money.

Ah, yes. The ruined - saved cycle.

Honestly the meta on the Bob Ross twitch stream is almost intrinsic to the original material for me now

I love the hype when he beats the devil out of it

I can no longer hear alizarin crimson without thinking of the silly lizard.

There are no mistakes, only happy accidents.
