Not only schools, there are whole neighborhoods in most cities that are nothing less than a war zone with people involved being younger and younger. Why should gangs risk jail when they can recruit bored teens or tweens to do their dirty work and not be charged as adults?
But a few damaged Teslas are a problem?

This presidency is debasing every institution it touches. It is built on the corruption of the courts, or he wouldn't be in power at all.
Where are these neighborhoods? Do you know what urban warfare actually looks like? Have you seen footage of Gaza for example?
You make a good point. Maybe I’ve fallen into the trap of seeing street after street of boarded up buildings and hearing of houses being hit by stray bullets every couple of months and thinking it is a war zone.
I’ve never witnessed an actual war zone and can only go by images and videos I’ve seen. Maybe the better term is “areas with frequent gang activity that could mean innocent bystanders could get hit with a bullet”?
"Terrorism" has no meaning when it's used by a fascist terror state. It's always been just a political slur against the other team's violence.

I'm worried MAGA has genuinely been working to make things so bad that the civil war they've been salivating for becomes the only possible outcome. I genuinely starting to wonder if we can restore any semblance of sanity to this country without violence entering the equation.

It's literally legal to blow up a Tesla. Jan 6 pardons set the legal precedent that organized terrorism involving property damage is just fine. Carry on vandals. I do not condone or reject your actions but I do understand them to be legal.

More to the point, laws there are made up as they go along. Now I know that all laws are made up, but in the US today, it's literally "that law is what I make it to be today, tomorrow it might be something else"

Important to remember this when we consider the relative morality of Tesla vandals. So far I haven't heard of anyone getting hurt so I think it's pretty mild.

Does insurance even pay out for "acts of terrorism"..?
Some interesting things came to my attention recently.
One, there was a headline about the guy who got caught setting fire to Teslas at a dealership, saying that he had caused "$5 million in damage." For setting a few things on fire? Really?
Then, my HOA insurance policy renewal came across my desk (for the HOA, I'm on the board). I'm looking over all the details in the quote and I find some things about a federal program to insure against terrorism. This section explained how, in 2020, the requirement that the perpetrator be a "foreign agent" was dropped. Guess what wasn't dropped: the requirement that the damage must be at least $5 million. There is a portion of the insurance premium that goes to pay for this program (its own insurance premium that's handled through the insurance company). It's $80/year.
Ever wonder why they're so keen on classifying these as terrorism? Sure, the authoritarianism is a big part of it, but the other part is that it lets them get paid more money, from the federal government. Call it terrorism, say there was more than $5M in damages, get paid.
