My friend found this on her car today…so I wanted to share it here in case anyone wanted to bombard this number with calls that are NOT about empowering human rights violations so that we can waste their time and keep the phones busy from getting calls for what they’re asking for.

You could tie up the lines, or you could start filing reports for traditional MAGA/Republican/conservative hangouts/businesses in your area. If you suggest you have legitimate concern you might be able to waste even more time and money by getting them to mobilise. Worst case some MAGA idiots will get deported.

Scratch that, worst case they will trace your number and arrest you for wasting their time, be careful out there, maybe use a payphone or burner to make contact if you can. Extra points for convincing a RWNJ to let you use their phone to make the call.

If you're not calling 911, under what legal recourse could they arrest you?

[–] orvorn@slrpnk.net 16 points 1 day ago

Do you think that matters anymore when it's ICE?

[–] AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 day ago

It's a joke to think the current administration needs any real reason to arrest anyone for anything.

Do Americans not have laws against making false calls to law enforcement?

[–] Thassodar@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago

ICE isn't law enforcement, per se. They're immigration enforcement that you do not use a protected line, like 911, to call. There is no law maintaining you cannot call the ICE line.

*67 still works and that's enough to at least block them from direct access to your number. Police will have to subpoena the phone company to get your number.

Yeah and they sure are not above the law! /s

The phone company will drop that like a hot potato the instant they ask for it, I wouldn't put any faith in it

But how would someone know if someone is an undocumented? (They wont, it's just racism)

I'd check one's local Republican leaders. Or KKK, proud boys, tea party members, neo nazis, cops, etc

Maybe use a throwaway number if you're gonna denounce cops lol

They don't care. They WANT to illegally detain and deport ACTUAL Citizens because it helps consolidate voting power.

Does anyone know the address for the Nazi party in California? Are there any rural addresses of abandoned far-right sites we can send them to?
