Nicotine is awesome for the first few months and then your body adapts and you literally get nothing out of it. Even if you take a break your receptors never reset so it's really one of those single use drugs.
How is it awesome?
Its a very powerful stimulant and great for focus enhancement.
If you're legitimately interested and not just trolling see this detailed psychonauts wiki page: https://m.psychonautwiki.org/wiki/Nicotine
There are many orher substances that do the exact same thing without the extreme side effects of nicotine.
Juul saved my life. I tell everyone who smokes about how easy quitting smoking was with Juul. I’m not being paid. I really believe it.
And then quitting Juul was pretty easy also because it wasn’t really smoking anymore. Overall, 5 stars.
You quit tobacco and tar which is great. You’re still addicted to nicotine which is bad.
Your health outcomes would have been worse with tobacco but continued use of nicotine will have negative effects.
I definitely think a good progression is cigarettes to vaping to lozenges or mints, to nothing.
I’m still hooked on nicotine. These days I mix my own juice, use refillable pods that last me a good month with two rechargeable batteries that I swap between. It’s very cheap when one does it this way. Quitting is obviously the best way to go, and believe me I’ve tried, but I keep coming back.
I’ve given up opiates, coke, and weed. But dropping nicotine is a real bitch.
If you mix your own juice why not slowly decrease the bicotine in the mix until it’s nonexistent? That should ween you off the nicotine and you won’t have to worry about it.
I have lowered the amount of nicotine in the juice I make. But getting down to 0 has been very difficult to do. Actually putting less in is not the hard part. Sticking with it is the hard part. It’s really easy to just make a new bottle at the level I had before that. Idk. It’s hard to explain.
Do you have a trusted friend who could hold onto your nic extract and dispense specific amounts to mix into your juice mixture?
I used to subohm 100 mg/ml salt nic extract and I managed to quit by reducing the nic until I got to 18 mg/ml, then switched to nicotine gum for a couple of months, then to regular gum for a month or two. This exact method isn't going to work for everyone, and there are multiple ways to quit nicotine. I no longer have nicotine cravings, though, and I haven't for years now.
Kinda like when I switched to rolling my own cigs, or later switching to a pipe. In theory, the extra work was supposed to disincentivize use. In practice, I just got really good at rolling cigs/packing a pipe
This does not mean they are safe or ‘FDS Approved’.
There hasn’t been enough time and data to know the effects of long-term vaping.
There are very few longitudinal studies on vaping and what it can do to the human body (less than 4).
That is definitely not enough to determine all the hard facts.
Juul devices are re-usable but the pods aren't which still create a ton of plastic waste.
Juuls/pod systems/"disposable" ones are, but there are plenty of options that are fully rebuild-able. RTA/RDA on a classic mod for example.
Idk why so many abandoned the classic mods, they are so much cooler, I had one with Bluetooth and LEDs back in the day LMAO.
Ig that "just works" aspect of the pods was as addictive as the nicotine :/
Yeah i used to smoke refills - it's so easy and a bottle would last me for months. You can also mix flavors and cola + any fruit (like cola lichee) was my go to!
Not really sure what's happened for that as well, as myself one who still uses an RTA and a mod. The local vape shop in my area went under... so now basically it's ordering online as the only option. But even so the cost effectiveness is overwhelming.
Honestly I think it's simply the fact that, nice mods etc... last years... my RTA with about 15 bucks worth of cotton and wire, has held me up for over 2 years. $30 of liquid can last me 2 months easily. Meanwhile I'm seeing people buying disposables that last about 3 days for $25.
I assume that's basically what happened though, stores are incentivized to encourage things that bring lots of re-occuring income. I'd have to say it's the same as the reason why almost everyone uses inkjet printers instead of lasers.
Half the reason I started vaping was because I couldn't care less about killing myself, but spending $7 a day on a pack of cigs, was adding up fast.
Aren't these full of lead?
There are so many brands of e-liquid and they aren't required to publish ingredient lists, so the answer is probably "some of them, yeah".
There was a recent report that they’re worse than actual cigarettes, but okay.
Big doubt on that statement bruh
Thats not Juul but disposable Chinese illegal vapes. It says right in the title.
Oh, I'm sure Juul are much healthier. 🙄
Why not? I think we can nail healthy evaporator tech that doesnt leaked heavy metals right? Why couldn't Juul achieve this?
