Canada Proud appears to be Poilievre's brand name for spreading lies he can't get away with repeating himself.

[–] DarkWinterNights@lemmy.world 4 points 7 hours ago

conservative meme machine

Seems to grossly and deliberately understate what Canada Proud, Canada Unity, Take Back Alberta, etc. etc. etc. really are.

Noah Alter, a spokesperson for Canada Proud, defends the Carney-Epstein ads, insisting the group never accused the prime minister of participating in Epstein’s crimes, but is instead simply asking questions.

Oh, just asking questions, they should prove themselves the negative of our proof less accusations!

Come on, this still qualifies as defamation in Canada, they should get sued for it.

Maybe someone should do the same for PP. You know, just ask questions.

[–] Yoga@lemmy.ca 12 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

PP actually has a clean history because he was grown in a conservative party test tube

[–] YurkshireLad@lemmy.ca 4 points 15 hours ago

Haha I love this comment!

Yeah like why no security clearance PP? Afraid his ties to Putin will be exposed i'll wager.

[–] grey_maniac@lemmy.ca 1 points 7 hours ago

Maybe PP is the one with ties to Epstein. Maybe that's why he's afraid to get clearance.

Former Post Millenial writer - shocker.

simply asking questions.

"Sea Lioning"

[–] HikingVet@lemmy.ca 40 points 18 hours ago

Completely unsurprising. Someone should check if "Canada Proud" has a pedophile problem.

Take it from an American. Don't ignore this as silly. This will convince an alarming number of ~~idiots~~people.

They just keep repeating lies until people believe them and it works.

One of the problems with being valueless is reaching them with facts and proof is almost pointless, because they can heel toe their way into the next cudgel their favorite political reality-tv identity pivots to.

Being lied to is met with a shrug, so long as it's from their "champion." The fact PP stands where he does today despite a deluge of factual untruths and deep ties to massive conflicts of interest and American media conglomerates is indicative that you're right - we are just as susceptible to Trump's playbook, which is entirely what PP has built his entire campaign thus far around.

It's not just Canada unfortunately. I believe Putin is behind a rightward shift via psyops he is running globally to take down the west. And he's succeeding.

Now is the time to be getting information from Canadian Owned and Operated media.

There will be disinformation campaigns unlike any other election.

[–] qprimed@lemmy.ml 8 points 17 hours ago

usa occupant here. for the love of everything good, please push back on any disinformation like your lives depend on it.

talk to neighbors, carry leaflets with you to bolster valid, verifiable facts - and hand them liberally to anyone misinformed. this is now a matter of national security for canada.

an informed electorate makes informed choices - whatever those choices may be, at least make them from a place of concensus truth. the us has not done this for a long while now.

Aren’t those photos all fake?

How is that not libel?

[–] sunzu2@thebrainbin.org 5 points 18 hours ago

All no photos and no other documents to support the two knew each other?

[–] pubquiz@lemmy.world 17 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

So is L'il pp gonna fess up about his "alleged" spousal abuse? It's up to him to set the record straight.

[–] Kichae@lemmy.ca 3 points 9 hours ago

He needs to explain the dead hookers I believe are in his trunk

[–] Alloi@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

alleged my ass, i saw him personally kick his wife in the ribs by a dumpster behind a winnipeg montanas in 2016. really laid into her. i thought about saying something, it seemed like he was deliberately trying to kill her. but thats when i realised it wasnt his wife, it was a giant crustacean from the paleolithic era, and it made direct eye contact with me, staring at me between winces with those big red eyes.

then it said if i wanted a turn after him, it would cost "about tree fiddy"

Why are ads like these allowed? This is disgusting to allow as an ad.

[–] radding@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 hours ago

Meta and Twitter. They allowed similar stuff in the past for our and the US elections. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Ah, JAQing off on the public stage 🙄

[–] RunawayFixer@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

Stating to be "simply asking questions" has become such a red flag that I immediately assume that anything that person does or says, is most likely misleading, and certainly done in bad faith.
