We have epstein files.

There are no epstein files.

Epstein was a hero.

Classic propaganda tactic. Speculating about alternative answers after you already know the answer or when everyone knows where the answer is.

He speculates why did all these rich and powerful people not abandon him? Because he was secretly a good guy? No, you liar, it's because they were his clients so he could blackmail them if he wanted to.

He speculates why did he get favorable terms from previous trials? Because he was secretly a good guy? No, you propagandist liar, it's because he was ultra wealthy and well connected.

If he was secretly a good guy, he wouldn't have offed himself in prison, so there'd be a giant investigation over that.

Epstein didn't kill himself

[–] logicbomb@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I'm not saying whether he did or not. I'm saying that if he was a good guy, he definitely wouldn't, and all of his "chivalrous" friends would be dying to get to the bottom of it.

This is just one of the Republican insiders being honest for once in their life, claiming Epstein for one of their own like he always was.

[–] Soulg@ani.social 33 points 1 day ago

Pedophiles are okay if they're on the Republican side.

[–] seanblxck@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

My exact reaction. It's no longer mental hurdles, it's mental high jump

[–] pjwestin@lemmy.world 52 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Trump really painted himself into a corner by promising the QAnons all of the dirt on Epstien, and I'm very curious to see if a narrative like this can dig him out. They'll usually twist reality into knots to keep their narrative alive, but, "Epstien was a white hat," might he a bridge too far, even for them.

[–] hansolo@lemmy.today 32 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Doesn't matter.

Remember that "I could shoot someone in the middle of 5th Ave" line? Turns out he meant "I could rape a child," and these people would STILL love him.

This is their loyalty test now. This is how low this sleeze will take them this week.

[–] pjwestin@lemmy.world 6 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

I think that's true for some MAGAs, but the QAnons have invested deeply in the child-trafficking conspiracy. I think if he created a narrative of, "Yes, I'm on the client list, but it was a double agent for the deep state," they would swallow it (most of them already believe some version of that), but telling them that their is no conspiracy and they need to move on will not go over well. (Of course, claiming to be an Epstien double-agent is gonna make him look crazy to anyone not Q-pilled, so he can't do that).

So Pizzagate is real, but the Epstein files aren't?

[–] burgerpocalyse@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago

there was no topping list

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.dbzer0.com 49 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Wow, what a nut job. He starts by trying to say maybe Epstein worked for the CIA and was trying to get blackmail on foreign officials for our government. Sir, even if that were true, you should want every member of the CIA using children as rape bait for blackmail in prison. (And the people showing up to use said services.. you know.. the guy your trying to defend)

[–] pjwestin@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

I mean, he's not pulling that out of his ass entirely. The prosecutor who gave Epstien a slap on the wrist in 2007 claimed he only let him off easy because he was told Epstien, "belonged to intelligence." That may be entirely bullshit, or it may he that the intelligence got wind of his sex-trafficking and offered to keep him out of prison if he set up a few honeypots. I would guess that it's at least partially true, since the authorities seem to he withholding a lot of information from the public, but in any case, there's no way he was a CIA agent or, "Patriot."

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 44 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Why are Democrats not going on the news and taking every opportunity to call the Republicans pedo protectors?

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 44 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Because they're so bad at messaging that it comes off as self-sabotage. They've been like this for decades, it's fucking infuriating.

[–] MJKee9@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago

It's intentional.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

~~Also because there's probably democrats on the list~~ Also because Bill Clinton.

Hey wanna know something about Epstein? Alongside being a massive pedophile, he was also a Eugenicist who wanted to make a Musk style baby-mama ranch. He worked with the guy who founded Colossal (the "Direwolf" people, remember that?) with the idea to basically do Eugenics.

Alongside providing children for Trump to rape, that's why the right want to rehabilitate him, because they wanna do Eugenics.

[–] ultranaut@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I am surprised how few people know about the Epstein breeding ranch. From what I've seen it was his big project before being arrested, he had a massive facility on thousands of acres of land with its own airstrip all ready to go in New Mexico. If he hadn't been arrested and died in jail he would probably be raising his first brood by now. Given how much he tried to spread his eugenicist ideas around in the crowd he hung out with I wouldn't be surprised if there are more deranged assholes out there like him and Musk trying to pull off their own human breeding projects.

[–] abbiistabbii@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

oh there is, and I think they're gonna come out the woodwork with this "I'm superior, I must spread my seed" shit.

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

Feeling the need to spread seed based on a self described superior gene set.

I swear I've heard that before....

There is no list... After the Trump administration removed all of his rich peers from the list, no names were left...so no list.

the amount of mental gymnastics here.

there's a huge gap being skipped from being skipped.

epstein would be complicit and still part of the gang if he's doing what he was told.

[–] atzanteol@sh.itjust.works 15 points 1 day ago

This is the classic conspiracy theory logic laid bare. A long string of facts tied together with plausible sounding but made-up reasons.

Just because your theory could explain it doesn't mean it does explain it.

[–] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

In a bare minimum rational world, Mr. Kelly would never see the broadcast side of a teleprompter ever again.

[–] Tempus_Fugit@midwest.social 14 points 1 day ago

If the conspiracy heads fall for this... Man, they're going to eat this up huh?

[–] RoidingOldMan@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Epstein was CIA under deep cover. He was infiltrating the pedophile ring and he got too close. What a patriot.

Reposting a comment I made on a similar post about the 180 mental gymnastics MAGA are displaying.

What you're witnessing here is described in When Prophecy Fails, a study on cults and how they justify continued belief after experiencing events that should disprove their belief.

Cult members will simply invent new reasons to continue their belief and remove the cognitive dissonance they may feel, which oddly results in a further entrenched belief, instead of a weakened one.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

If this narrative actually catches on with the right... Ugh I don't even know.
