Isn't "Abundance" just the latest rebranding of neoliberalism?

[–] Ryktes@lemmy.world 12 points 20 hours ago

Correct. Project abundance is just "do absolutely nothing new, but do is slightly louder."

I feel like abundance is just doing nothing. Democrats already think they've reached the balance between industry and social impact. The fact that everyone* suffered* still with them in power means they haven't, but they think it's just a fine tweak away. Patience is unwarranted at this point.

Edit: clarity

Youre probably right but as of right now they are completely directionless. Also, we all know what ever Ezra says is what they are going to do. So its like they are asking permission when really you just need to do what youre going to do anyway and quit posturing.

Id rather a grassroots movement that washes away all current leadership. Im banking on it, really.

I think it's pretty much a given that with current leadership a dead end followed by a U-turn back into fascism is all that they're offering us. Better than fascism, but still guarantees a fascist future.

What if the world always descends into fascism and its our job to create systems that keep us above water.

Seems like a worthy cause, no?

The fact that everyone's suffering still with them in power

Um, the Democrats are very much not in power. Remember when we didn’t vote for them? That’s why.

20-24* is what I was referring to. Bad use of the word 'still'

What's this? I'm not as plugged-in since the election.

So... Clintonism: The Sequel?

So glad the goons in the DNC have learned their lesson.
