My business partner sometimes says some shit that while true, really stabs me in the heart.
His most recent one, "Ugh, there's too many parents with sickly kids here. Let's go to the VIP room." (At the airport)
Like, I'm one of those sickly kids.
I’m not entirely sure of that. While corporate AI would certainly cause that, right now there are open weights models which can be run on a relatively affordable computer, and they are not that far behind. These models are able to democratize AI benefits rather than concentrate it.
Yeah because if everyone is extremely cheap labour everyone will prosper? :)
Not necessarily, but everyone having access to cheap labor AND raw materials would ensure that.
Now I’m not going to pretend that AI is anywhere close to being a source of cheap labor. It really can’t do much without a human to assist it.
I am remarkably annoyed by this guy making predictions on measurable things that he then entirely vibe-checks.
A.I. will destroy the professional managerial class, the ones that keep voting for neo-liberals/neo-cons, and policies that support A.I., a bit of irony. Let them feel the pain of the working and poor classes, no more over-paid glorified babysitter jobs. Then, just maybe, we can all vote for real working class heroes, and reform.
Ha, that's pretty optimistic to think after all this that democracy and voting will still be part of the picture.
I'll just ask chatgpt to do the research and vote for me
