Damn right you aren't. Your oath is towards the constitution, not any single person. And you not only have a right to not obey unlawful orders, you have a solemn duty to defy them. Any dictator only has as much power as his enforcing branch - the military - will allow him. Take the military away, and they're just overgrown children throwing a tantrum, subject to the will of the common people.

This has been said to death, but "I was following orders" was not a valid justification in Nuremberg, and it will be even less so this time around.

Especially right now in this period .... what kind of legacy is it to say that you followed orders, from a criminal, selfish, idiotic leader that does not represent the people but only to wealthy backers and to monied interests and to their own self interest.

I'm really happy to see this and I hope this sentiment is widespread in the military. I suspect we won't see many others joining her, though. Political speech while in uniform is a huge no no. I hope the repercussions for this woman aren't too harsh.

Bullshit headline. One person spoke out. And she will be, rightfully, fucked over for it. Sorry, but you don't get to speak politically while in uniform, even if I wholeheartedly agree. And I'm all for her position and all for our military not taking political stances. I pray our military leadership keeps our non-interference history in mind.
