News and Discussions about Reddit
Welcome to !reddit. This is a community for all news and discussions about Reddit.
The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:
Rules
Rule 1- No brigading.
**You may not encourage brigading any communities or subreddits in any way. **
YSKs are about self-improvement on how to do things.
Rule 2- No illegal or NSFW or gore content.
**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **
Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.
Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.
Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding META posts.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.
If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.
Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.
Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.
Let everyone have their own content.
Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.
I've found that using RedLib instances through LibRedirect is very slick for accessing Reddit results from search engines.
Are you using a VPN?
Nope. my browser can use a VPN, but it's off unless I turn it on.
That image has your IP in it.
Too late, I have hacked op's IP address, taken out several loans, and am now using his IP address to commit violent crimes.
Same. I'm downloading a car right now.
You wouldn't do that, would you?
I'm downloading a house... and a hot boyfriend!!
I uploaded a new pic without the IP.
Unfortunately, it's not that easy on the fediverse. My instance, kbin.earth, still has the original image, and I'm guessing mine's not the only one. Once something's published to the fediverse, there's no going back :)
I am doomed. DOOOMED!!!
Consequences will never be the same
Weird, I usually get that when my vpn is on, must be an IP ban, their skins so thin over there it's transparent.
Stay here for a while, we have our own fun dumb shit to annoy you, but it's still better than Reddit.
edit the www
to old
it should work again, I got the same thing I think its some user agent stuff but I am not 100% sure.
It's affecting everyone sporadically right now. I know you can't get on reddit, but there's a lot of complaints, it's supposedly not intentional according to admin comments.
As others have said, that's not the "banned" message. That's some overzealous automatic thing they've put in that seems to try and stop excessive traffic all coming from the same source. When it works "right" it mainly just pops up to stop people on VPNs (lots of traffic from a relatively small set of IP addresses).
It's stupid as hell, and just more poor decisions stemming from their attempts to prevent scraping by AI, but it's not a ban.
You goofed.
I got this as well about a week ago but it started working again a short while later
