My parents had me sit down for "the talk" when I was 14. This is what I was taught, yes.
Depends on your area. Would you trust the police with her? Would an ambulance leave her in forever-debt? Any 24 hour woman’s shelters nearby? Do as much as you’re able. But don’t kidnap her.

Police taking advantage of women isnt uncommon in certain parts of the world. If you don’t have issues with oversight in your neck of the woods, you’re probably fine.
because they tend to torture the poor, the addicts, the already-suffering? because they are notorious for covering up rape and beating their spouses? idk
