I didn't know it was Hitler but I knew after the first complete sentence that it wasn't marmalade mussolini.
Zero chance he's ever said anything that coherent.

Trump has people who can turn his demented ramblings into coherent texts so while this is certainly not something he'd come up with himself, it would be very in character for his administration.
Yeah, I genuinely thought that it was a excerpt of a press release from his regime. It would certainly be fitting to something that they would release and attribute to him.
At its most based level, this is fascism cliff notes plus dementia.
The worst part is, that's how the majority of my generation passed school, and since we're almost the youngest, we have the most.
"These crooked judges, who are never Trumpers, are CRIMINALLY GUILTY! Do you think, I have the best attorneys. They are really smart. They say to me, they say 'Sir, how did you learn the law so much?' You know I passed the bar? I could have been a lawyer. It's true. We have the most wonderful law in the world and these ACTIVIST JUDGES think they are smarter than the American people?! I'm not allowed to say this because, you know, it's not 'politically correct' but you know what I say? They are retards. Not very smart up there. I heard, you ready for this? Many of these lawyers only got into law school because their parents were, you know...DEI acceptance! That's crazy! I will make the legal system proud again!"
I hate that I can't tell if this is real
Too obvious, Trump doesn't speak that well.
If it were Trump, it would have said something more like:
You know the judges? Have you heard about these judges? Nasty people, these judges. You've never seen such judges before. I will put a stop to these judges.
No body goes after judges like I do, let me tell you. These judgesssssss, nasty people head tilt to the left and we're gonna put a stop to 'em head tilt to the right.
I have the best judges, that I can tell you.
You forgot ‘activist judges’ is their favourite
Who the fuck could ever believe trump could string together a statement like that? The guy is mentally defective.
Yeah that Hitler dude was a pretty clever cat compared to Trump.
Hitler was a very good public speaker. Let's give credit where credit is due.
Trump on the other hand... Is not.
The current trend in this comments section is full of praise for fucking Hitler for being better than Trump. And if there ever was a better reason to remove Trump from office I haven't seen it.
Absolute insanity. This time line is so fucked.
Hitler was a very good public speaker.
Compared to Trump, sure. But no credit is due.
He was a very good mass murderer, if you feel the need to credit him with something.
Yes, it's clear a person doesn't need to be a good speaker to rile up people who want a free ticket to hate. I'd have agreed Hitler was a good speaker before Trump, but now I think we just assumed that was the case because we couldn't fathom so many people being behind a bad one.
I mean look at the rest. Isn't it one of the baffling things about our times how easy it is to appeal to the masses with obviously idiotic takes. Maybe it's nothing new.
Also I'm sure Hitler didn't write his speeches.
He doesn't even write his tweets, let alone his speeches.
Hitler actually put a great deal of work and practice time into becoming a good public speaker. Can you imagine Trump putting that kind of effort into anything? Even golf?
Yeah I knew it was a lie after line 3, Trump doesn't speak that well.
Trump is a great public speaker if you consider who his audience is.
I don't know about that. Seems like a lot of people like to hear Trump's speeches. Then and now, there is but one constant: human stupidity in its sheer endlessness.
I have to admit I was fooled, even though I"m sure Trump doesn't know a word as big as evidently
I'm not sure he can get "nation" out
I wouldn't assume he even knows "shall."
Well lets be honest Trump can't form sentences that are this coherent. Yet people still somehow dig it. I understand the appeal of a charismatic leader with a strong rhetoric but Trump? Come on guys.
everything he says is laundered and repackaged through an army of spin doctors to make it seem more convincing and articulate.
Hitler had Goebbels. one guy. with the rise of for profit, 24/7, ubiquitous social media, there's now 10,000 Goebbels with their own podcast or content channel.
and because these apologists and sane-washers get paid by tech companies (in advertising/ clicks) they have incentives to keep churning it out without any direct orders from a central authority - "Smash that subscribe button!, we got weekly hot takes on what glorious leader actually meant when he said 'death to my enemies!'"
The turd messiah
I think a lot of people aren't that coherent. They also just kind of wander from emotion to emotion, so Trump talks like they think.
Sounded too eloquent for Trump.
The "shall" was a dead giveaway. And nothing was RANDOMLY CAPITALIZED!!!
I figured as much. It was too coherent for a long sentence to be dementia donald.
Trump could never speak that well. And what was Hitler doing arresting Wisconsin judges?
Trump's worldview is very similar to Hitler's in many ways. The core similarity is that they both thought/think of everything in international relations as zero-sum.
There's a lot to it that can't be compressed into a readable Lemmy comment, but it's pretty easy to find material.
They're very similar.
They're were both extremely damaged by emotional neglect in their childhoods, while ironically being treated as if they were superior in some way, and after being rejected by society (New York society in Trump's case, art school in Hitler's,) they lashed out instead of being introspective to correct their narcissistic repulsive behavior, and leaned hard into punishing all of the inferior peasants by being colossal entitled assholes.
Malignant Narcissistic Psychopathy 101.
A key difference: Hitler survived on battlefields where he could die a horrible death. Trump lacks the suffering and hardship required to understand what is at stake if he plays the fascist game badly. I think that is going to be a major reason in why Fascist America would lose in the long run, since it doesn't value competency in any respect. Even the Nazis had some competencies, despite being evil dickheads.
Do you have a source for that I can show other people?
Here's the snopes article with background on Hitler's quote (apparently there a snopes article because some people posted this without the "just kidding" part.
Thank you. That's got some interesting further context too.
Hitler delivered the speech in front of the Reichstag... right around the middle of World War II
So it's not in the lead up when Hitler 'might' have appeared good to more people: the way people often compare Trump these days.
I myself am justified to refuse because since 1933 I have not taken three days' leave — a fact which is probably not known to these individuals.
Sounds just like what Trump might boast! Or how Musk justifies that people should work long hours!
they are here for the nation, that is, the world, which includes Germany, must not decline in order that formal law may live, but Germany must live, irrespective of the contradictions of formal justice.
(Emphasis mine.) That's the worrying similarity that stood out to me most.
image of text to pointlessly break accessibility
😞
Trump's statement after arresting Wisconsin judge:
"I expect the legal profession to understand that the nation is not here for them but they are here for the nation...
From now on, I shall intervene in these cases and remove from office those judges who evidently do not understand the demand of the hour."
I lied, that was Hitler in 1942.
Especially when Lemmy now has a field to fill in alt text when posting.
That's far too well spoken for trump.
If it doesn't look like it could be written on a shit and ketchup smeared sticky note in crayon, it's unfortunately gonna be pretty obvious.
I thought that sounded a bit too well spoken to be this fucking guy.
Not that I mean to give anything remotely representing a compliment to that other guy, of course.
Rollercoaster down hill in slow motion, hell yeah ☠️ We're cooked, pressure them with protests
The problem with the judiciary is that it never really had any teeth. It was just there to protect rich people and give the appearance of checks and balances. I mean, we keep impeaching these presidents, but I never see anything happen. And now Trump, supposedly a felon, is now the president. Also, I'm old enough to know that the quality of President continues to diminish, and I think that's a reflection of our society as a whole. People are getting dumber and they are not capable of discerning a good speaker who thinks rationally versus somebody who is just impulsive, reactionary and just tells them what they want to hear. Like I know if I'm completely left to my own devices I'm gonna make stupid mistakes. That's why I like laws and justified hierarchies. in more of a lateral and less hierarchical structure. I also emphasize the importance of clear communication because most of the world's problems and conflicts are based upon people who know very little. And that's why they're used as dildos for the state.. But at the same time as a libertarian socialist i think we, the people, need more liberty. And capitalism does not provide us with this. Also. What is free will, really? Relative to the hierarchy, the natural hierarchy, we are all bound by laws. Despite all my rage, I am still a rat in a cage. Sorry for my navel gazing. I was just thinking out loud.
Omg, I thought those sentences were a little different from how he spoke, but I believed it.
