Like how election fraud completely disappeared once Trump won?

[–] Z3k3@lemmy.world 58 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They are afraid they will find some

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 40 points 2 days ago

They ~~are afraid~~ know they will find some

[–] Burninator05@lemmy.world 35 points 2 days ago

It's only fraud when they lose. Snowflakes don't like to lose.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 126 points 2 days ago (2 children)

They're fine with tyranny as long as they see it as "their" tyranny. And they'll still be blaming the gays and the immigrants when they themselves are dragged off to the gulag.

[–] Vinny_93@lemmy.world 41 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's time for the democrats to take up arms then. It'll probably start a civil war again.

A house divided against itself cannot stand.

The only moral ~~abortion~~ tyranny is my ~~abortion~~ tyranny.

Armed minorities are harder to oppress.

Organized armed minorities make governments afraid.

Get organized, train.

It's that or lie down and take it.

[–] KMAMURI@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I told Americans for weeks now to go meet minorities in their communities, offer to help them organize and arm. Then help them resist.

They'll fight you about it.

I've been called every name you can imagine. Told they would all be killed in the streets (very possible I admit but not the point), I was reported a lot and given bans for inciting violence. Many of those posts have subsequently been deleted. I was attacked so much I shut my original account and use two new accounts so I don't unintentionally dox myself.

Now it's pretty common to see these comments.

I thought tyranny was when the government tells you to not throw trash in the river or pays for kids public elementary?

This is that tyranny you were always talking about

Reminds me of Alex Jones; or to be more precise, of the KnowledgeFight (play on InfoWars) podcast. All through 2025 they are commenting on Alex' praise of Trumplon: "You should know that this is exactly what you pretended to be fighting against all those years."

It really shows that the alt-right and related movements were never about freedom. It's always been about the hate, mostly hate of others.

Well ... The 2nd ammendment friendly liberals are smart enough not to post "come get sum ya dirty Nazi asshats" or say how they might be looking forward to defending their home against armed trespassers (ICE without a warrant). That stuff leads to trouble, or might look bad in court.

People know this is bad. History shows this only ends in violence. There is no way to vote our way out of this, these people either get overthrown/arrested, or they get taken out by other nations world war style.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 14 points 1 day ago

"The takeover will be bloodless if the left allows it to be."

[–] RoguePilot09@lemmy.world 41 points 2 days ago (8 children)

I’m not being quiet about it AT ALL. This is why I’ve been trying to convince my liberal friends to arm themselves for years.

[–] DickFiasco@lemm.ee 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Bought my first gun ever immediately after the November election. When anyone brings up the stock market these days I tell them I'm investing in seeds, fresh water, and ammunition.

[–] JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 days ago (4 children)

Invest in water purification, if that isn't what you meant. The means to make safe water in decent quantities is going to be so important. I'm very lucky to have a strong spring fed swamp/bog on my property that I'm confident in being able to purify if my well crapped out somehow. Plan next winter is to get out there and find out where exactly the spring is.

They're 100% OK about right wing autocracy and white supremacy. That's been their thing the whole time.

[–] Stupe@lemm.ee 30 points 1 day ago (27 children)

My 00 buckshot is allowed to enter ICE agents who don't have a warrant.

[–] mechoman444@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Ya. I mean. They don't have a warrant. They're trespassing.

The issue is law enforcement won't serve a warrant in the blind. They do their research. They know who they're about to take down.

So if it's just a migrant family trying to get by. Sure. They'll knock the doors down guns drawn like in the tv shows.

But it you a coked up methhead with traps all over your property in rural Georgia they'll conveniently not have enough probable cause.

America is a messed up country.

[–] unphazed@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

Taking notes... become a methhead. Got it. But how can I eat without teeth?

I wonder what'll happen when they raid a house belonging to one of the trigger-happy gun collectors

[–] DickFiasco@lemm.ee 43 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The homeowner will roll out with a gun and immediately be killed in a hail of bullets, despite acting entirely within their rights. No ICE agents will face any consequences, and the warrantless raids will continue. That's what usually happens anyway. The 2nd amendment is a farce; law enforcement can legally kill you for exercising your right to bear arms if they want to.

[–] A_Union_of_Kobolds@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

Home owner doesn't roll out anywhere, he starts blasting the door knowing it's not gonna end well

Still, better than not doing anything. Make these fuckers afraid to go breaking into places in the night.

[–] Montagge@lemmy.zip 14 points 2 days ago (2 children)

They'll just start knocking the house over with bulldozers like Fallujah, or bomb them like they did in Philly.

[–] ZombiFrancis@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 days ago

The MOVE bombings are a good example of how deep the cowardice of racism is.

Hell the KKK largely formed in response to Americans getting military training in World War 1.

See the Breonna Taylor case or one of the many, many instances where dumbfuck no-knock raids got a cop put on GoFundMe. If the gun owner survives the encounter, they're likely to be prosecuted for not magically knowing the home invaders were cops, or not believing "Police! Police!" (because everyone knows only cops can shout that). The cops will definitely shoot back, though, and there's a high probability that the gun owner will not survive the initial encounter. Still, if enough cops get put on back window stickers, they'll start exercising some discretion.

One the same day Rittenhouse got off, a guy who defended himself against this exact thing was acquitted. But since the weapon he used wasn't properly registered to him (a charge which the judge for Rittenhouse shrugged off and tossed on a whim) that guy got 30 years in spite.

They'll find the loopholes to achieve the desired outcome.

Of course the NRA has been quiet. They always do this, because they're not about to people. Do you remember when California passed stricter gun laws? Because black people were buying guns? That happened like 50 years ago. The NRA was silent then and they are silent now.

Of course it's always good to point out the hypocrisy. But let's also remember the historical context, that this is consistent with the organization's values and it always has been and it always will be.

I just want to say, Che-casio Cortez is looking really good.

[–] Zero22xx@lemmy.blahaj.zone 20 points 2 days ago

They're hanging out with the free speech people, watching university students get deported for speaking freely and laughing at it.

[–] VampirePenguin@midwest.social 19 points 2 days ago

No one is looking to incite a civil war, even if many people on both sides fantasize about it. War is grueling and terrible and we are still too comfortable to risk it. BUT. I think preparing ourselves for the eventuality is wise. Really the best move we could make would be a general strike. It'd be a bloodless deathblow to this stupid stupid situation.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 18 points 2 days ago

2nd amendment people never cared about defending against tyranny, they just wanted their cool boom boom toys and specifically nthis group also just wanted to be able to be racist twats

[–] array@lemm.ee 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The tyranny is when they take the guns and it's too late to fight back. The tyranny is not the slow boil while they oppress the people I don't like before getting to me next. Duh. Stupid libs.

[–] 4grams@awful.systems 9 points 1 day ago

Almost got me with this one. I’ve heard the same argument deployed unironically from some of my own family…

[–] starman2112@sh.itjust.works 17 points 1 day ago (8 children)

You should become a 2A person, and get real loud about this. Let the Gestapo know that their choice of career is putting their lives at risk

Because capitalism has beaten every last will I have.

It won't get better because we are, in fact, waiting to die.

Dear other countries: don't let the bastards win. They already have here.

Edit: I'm depressed as fuck, please don't let my doomsaying hurt you. Sorry.

[–] Snowclone@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

No I feel you. It's a bad time to be American.

[–] The_Caretaker@lemm.ee 15 points 1 day ago (3 children)

A memo from the executive branch doesn't change the law anymore than a memo from me or you can act as a change in the speed limit. "Officer, I don't have to go 25mph here, I made a memo that says I can go as fast as I want, anywhere I want. I signed it and everything. Look it has my personal letterhead at the top."

[–] varyingExpertise@feddit.org 18 points 1 day ago

That would be the case if the executive branch still cared about what the judicial branch has to say or involved the whole legislative branch in the decision making process. However, they don't and their bulldozer approach is met with very little resistance.

Or in short: Being right doesn't help you a lot if you're being right while already in their concentration camp in El Salvador.

[–] Doctor_Satan@lemm.ee 12 points 1 day ago

"You might beat the rap, but you won't beat the ride."

This memo may not hold legal weight, but that won't mean much when ICE black-bags you and sends you to a Salvadoran gulag from which there is no escape and no contact with legal services.

So we should start calling ICE to report fashy gun owners are harboring illegal aliens, yes?

Maybe even illegal aliens with blogs that are critical of fascism.

That whole group struck me as a fantasy LARP long ago. Down with believing cons at face value.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

Who would've guessed that people overly obsessed with firearms and very vocal about their obsession had small dicks.

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The 99% who always vote team color have no true morals or standards. Their opinions are based on whatever their preferred news network tells them to believe or simple convenience.
