See the Breonna Taylor case or one of the many, many instances where dumbfuck no-knock raids got a cop put on GoFundMe. If the gun owner survives the encounter, they're likely to be prosecuted for not magically knowing the home invaders were cops, or not believing "Police! Police!" (because everyone knows only cops can shout that). The cops will definitely shoot back, though, and there's a high probability that the gun owner will not survive the initial encounter. Still, if enough cops get put on back window stickers, they'll start exercising some discretion.

One the same day Rittenhouse got off, a guy who defended himself against this exact thing was acquitted. But since the weapon he used wasn't properly registered to him (a charge which the judge for Rittenhouse shrugged off and tossed on a whim) that guy got 30 years in spite.

They'll find the loopholes to achieve the desired outcome.

In most of the US, there is no legal requirement of registering a weapon to a person. I think you're confusing that with the Wisconsin law restricting the unsupervised use of dangerous weapons by those under 18.

Rittenhouse or Andrew Coffee IV?

https://reason.com/2021/11/22/man-faces-30-year-sentence-self-defense-andrew-coffee-iv-rittenhouse/

I realized it had been a while since I read about it so I did a little trip down memory lane and can correct a few points: he got 10 years, but had faced 30. Also the circumstances of the firearm possession were more different than I recalled: Coffee wasn't allowed to have one and Rittenhouse just smuggled one.

If the cops or ICE knock down your door, they are looking for any excuse to kill you. I'm not worried about surviving, let alone prosecution. I'm opening fire on anyone who kicks in my door. And no, I don't have to stumble fuck around to get a weapon in hand. Catch me on the shitter. GTG.

And now that I have a brown (legal) immigrant wife, the stakes are suddenly real.

I always yell fbi when I'm robbing places that used to mean federal warrant. No idea what that shit means these days the fbi is a clown show. I'll probably just switch to yelling robbery in the future.
