Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

He is said to have used the name “PeteHegseth” to sign onto Sleeper.com, a fantasy football and sports betting site, last August

The man in charge of the US Military, everyone.

collapsed inline media

Well, at least I can find this user. Should I send him a message? :-D

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Is the combo on his luggage 12345?

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

.... How did you guess that? Now I'll have to change the combinations on all my luggage ...

(That joke isn't relevant anymore, though, now that you can't use locks on your luggage that the government doesn't have the key for. That was too absurd even for Mel Brooks.)

[–] neidu3@sh.itjust.works 12 points 1 day ago

Tell him your name is Donald and need an invite to his discord.

Who's got Hegseth linked to child porn, sex trafficking, or other dark shit through Signal on their bingo card?

[–] PoastRotato@lemmy.world 56 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I feel like that's the free space at the center of the card

[–] Revan343@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 day ago

When we filled out our bingo card, we just put 'Trump' in the centre.

I mean he has something in his psyche driving him to alcoholism. I don't know what it is, but something is eating him from the inside.

I think that's a prerequesite for being employed by the Trump regime

[–] JoShmoe@ani.social 23 points 1 day ago

Trump: Hilary Clinton!

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Almost enough to make me wish I was putting together an "Internet Safety for DODummies" slideshow this year. There's a whole art to calling senior leadership dumbasses without it being so overt that you get paperwork for it and this fucking guy can't stop feeding me the ingredients for some great material.

[–] JoShmoe@ani.social 5 points 22 hours ago

DODumbfucks

[–] xorollo@leminal.space 2 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

You could put such a thing together. It's not too late. If you did, where might one find it?

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago

Nowhere accessible, unfortunately. Gave up access to my shared drive at the end of the contract, decided to smoke weed and get fat instead.

It was the right choice.

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 16 points 1 day ago (2 children)

"All over the Internet" yet I can't fucking find it.

He finds you. Just wait, eventually he will send you some security secrets - he can't help himself.

[–] DoubleSpace@lemm.ee 20 points 18 hours ago

Why does your Lemmy app have banner ads?

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 4 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago)

That returns Mike Jones

Also, that was a 3-4 hours after I posted, so

Nobody should eat a ban to save you a search. If you really want it, the information is out there.

[–] paraphrand@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Is it doxing if it’s basically public information? /s

[–] ToastedRavioli@midwest.social 11 points 1 day ago

On Reddit at least, it seems like the answer to that depends on the political conveniences of the situation at hand

[–] gAlienLifeform@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

This question but non-sarcastically

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] Chainweasel@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I tried and it was just some chick named Jenny

[–] Gregg@lemm.ee 0 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Impressive to pull that off without a country or area code!

[–] Chainweasel@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I actually remember when you didn't need an area code unless you were calling long distance lol

[–] Quill7513@slrpnk.net 3 points 1 day ago

still don't with landlines, but when's the last time you used one of those?

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] Chainweasel@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It sounds like a Rice Krispies commercial

[–] grysbok@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What's your pain med of choice? I like children's chewable ibuprofen because I already have too many pills to swallow.

[–] Chainweasel@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

I usually just take an Aleve with my fiber in the morning and a second at lunch

[–] lettruthout@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Fun fact: To get a discount at the retail checkout without giving your personal info, you could use Jenny‘s number with your local area code. More times than not it would be accepted. ‘Haven’t tried this in a while though.

[–] grysbok@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 1 day ago

I did that last month at a new-to-me grocery store. Saved $5! Jenny needs to use her gas points, though. She has a ton.

[–] j0ester@lemmy.world 0 points 1 day ago

I got it (I got it), I got it I got your number on the wall I got it (I got it), I got it

[–] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

[–] satanmat@lemmy.world 8 points 21 hours ago

Well at least it isn't "petehegseth1488"

Shrug

[–] xc2215x@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Pete has looked so stupid.

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Only because he is though.

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You can tell he's stupid cause of the way he is. That's pretty neat.

[–] Altrex@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago

You can, apparently a decent portion of the population can't.

This is the way.
