Bessent criticized Musk for overpromising and under-delivering budget cuts with DOGE. Musk clapped back by calling Bessent a "Soros agent"

Wait, so Musk is using that kind of internet-edgelord speak in actual real life, and in the White House no less? Elon, lay off the Special K.

You only talk like that when you know you're being overheard (and maybe plan to leak it too)

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 2 points 20 hours ago

Nah, I don't think Elmo understands nuances like that. The guy is an absolute moron.

Fascists always eat each other.

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 24 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I'm genuinely shocked by this. But only because I didn't think Bessent had the spine or the personality depth to get into a heated argument with anyone. The guy comes across like a timid sloth on Valium, and has all the personality of a wet sock.

I think working with the Trump administration would be enough to set anyone off.

Someday in the medium-far future, after all the nurembergish trials and hangalangs feel like a distant memory, some producer and streaming service will reboot the West Wing, only it'll be the Trump West Wing and those future people will get to watch the unbridled escapades and think that's kinda just the normal way politics happened for us primitive morons.

Ha! Who am I kidding? Rampant accelerated climate change will ensure nothing of the sort ever happens. "Future people," what a concept!

Veep stopped making episodes because he’ll headlines in the 1st Trump administration were crazier than what they could write.

[–] adhocfungus@midwest.social 2 points 20 hours ago

Veep is tough to watch now. Even the zaniest most over-the-top scandals in the show are absolutely tame compared to reality. It's almost boring to watch. Every episode is, "If this gets out my career is over!" when the exact same thing has since happened with a Republican politician and nobody batted an eye.

We are watching the prequel to Idiocracy

I hate when mommy and daddy fight.

[–] reddig33@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago

I don’t. The more they fight the less they get done.

“‘ Everyone thinks DOGE is great,’ another administration official said.”

Everyone?

“Musk clapped back by calling Bessent a ‘Soros agent’"
