The olsen twins were also caught in the same nonsense.
That was extra fucked up, as they had been public figures since they were toddlers.
Wasn't there a countdown until they were legal? I mean, it's probably not unique but I do think there was a rather public countdown for them specifically.
Probably; I remember there definitely was for Emma Watson.
There's a bit during the credits of the movie The Master of Disguise where someone, while asking if the main character can turn into absolutely anyone, floats the idea of the Olsen Twins; they were 16 when that movie was released (which probably means they were 15 when the scene was filmed).

Ah, yep. Forgot about them. Cyrus, Lohan…a ton of the popular girl stars from Disney and other entertainment types all suffered. I thing the singers suffered worse, and those backed by Disney’s publicity machine that put them in the public eye more often.
