Nobody was banned from anything for sporting or showing pictures of that tailgate stickers. Nobody was arrested or questioned by authorities. They’re still being sold. They’re called “funny truck tailgate decals.” The people clutching their pearls now are simply afraid of the MAGA mob.

Everyone in the US knows that '86' means to remove and ban. I have heard this my entire life, and have personal experiences where acquaintances were 86'd from bars for getting too drunk and disruptive. Again, they were all kicked out and banned from the establishments.
And yes, that's what we should do to the lawless buffoon destroying our country. Don't follow the Republican trap of defending what 86 doesn't mean.
