Oh it gets worse.. I've heard picking Redguard gives you a nerf to intelligence.
Yikes if true
I wouldn't know because I picked a Lusty Argonian Maid
Not a nerf, but int is their lowest stat. In Morrowind they start at 30 in Int and Wil, but that's actually roughly the average intelligence of the people of Vvardenfell (given most of them are country bumpkins after all, most people in TES would be fucking stupid). This is actually kinda weird given the lore of Yokudan sword-singers (magic, which would need those stats, but I get the feel it's a balancing thing)
What might be worse is the dark skinned race technically isn't even from Tamriel or Nirn, they're the descendents of the Yokudans, who walked sideways from the last timeline into this one. They're literally not of this world or timeline
I'm immediately reminded of the perpendicular zone from Archie Sonic The Hedgehog, where all of reality is layers, but because one is at a perpendicular angle from the rest of them multiversal travel is easier for that. So they took it upon themselves to police the multiverse, with the number cop on the force being Zonic The Zone Cop.
Kinda, and might even be where the TES community got inspired from
In TES the world is on a cycle of birth by Akatosh and destruction by Alduin, followed by birth by Akatosh and destruction by Alduin (but under new names now), repeat. But also, they're all happening simultaneously as well, because at that layer time doesn't exist, that's only for mortal realms
The Yokudans saw the end coming and basically said "nah, id rather live" and stepped sideways into the main timeline as it was the next in line to go in the cycle, but was also physically next to them in the godly scheme of things
Confused? Good, cuz that's entry level TES lore bullshit it only gets harder from there and I can't do it
