After some digging, I also found this list: Top publicly traded Canadian companies by revenue

Right off the bat, I noticed a few issues:

  1. The list only includes publicly traded companies -- which is in the title, they're not trying to hide that fact, but it does mean that I'll need to find additional resources for privately owned Canadian companies.

  2. While it seems that most of the companies are Canadian, I spot-checked a few and found that some of them were owned by larger non-Canadian parent companies.

    For example, "Imperial Oil Limited is a Canadian petroleum company. It is Canada's second-largest integrated oil company. It is majority-owned by American oil company ExxonMobil, with a 69.6% ownership stake in the company."

So, the hunt for resources continues!
