/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Again, my point is just as valid as the person

again - no, it is not. you don't even understand the point.

anecdotal evidence is not very rigorous proof (though i assume there is not much formal research done in this area), but that is not the point.

see, while person claiming he never met a vegetarian doing that can indeed confirm the fact, you have no way of confirming majority of vegetarians you met were doing that. because you have no way of counting the vegetarians you met not doing that.

so while the other person can confirm the low number, you have no way to confirm your perceived high one. your argument fails to work even in the framework of the anecdotal evidences.

but has met multiple non-vegans spamming pictures of meat at vegans to… try and convert them. Are you kidding me? Who the fuck does something like that

lot of meat eaters. it is just that you do it so habitually you don't even realize you are doing that. you will just come to an image of a cow saying "hey, my steak is coming" thinking you are funny.

here you have few of them, who just felt the need to share their steak or stupid joke without being asked:

collapsed inline media

vegans share their thoughts when it becomes topic of the conversation - it is really the meat eaters who will shout out of the blue "uh uh, mah steak!", because they feel everyone needs to hear it.

it is similar to when people say "you know, i don't mind gays, but do they really have to shove it to everyone's face on their pride parades?" without realizing that the fucking carneval in rio is exactly that - a straight pride parade - you just don't realize it, because it is "normal" to you".
